I am trying to trace details of my grandfather's family (b 1901). They originated from Abertillery. My GF (Edward) was the youngest of 8 children, Edgar, Eva, William, Lella, Thomas, Annie and Paul. My GF married Laura MEEK (also from Abertillery - b. 1901) who was in service at the Blacker family residence.

I have no idea what my GG grandparents names were but understand he was a local businessman.

Anyone shed any light on my family - any help appreciated.

Hi,
I see you have both grandparents names and dob. from this you should be able to get the marriage certificate and with luck it will show the names of their parents and occupations. It will be quicker than trying to find people who know anything about the family.

looks like you grandfather Edward was born post census, the second youngest child was Thomas.

They lived in no 38 Cwm Gilvach Houses
