Got me beat anyway Question Spill the beans Carloyn!

This would make a nice feature on the website actually. Similar to 'Who's in the picture?' but more 'What's in the picture?'

It is the famous Talking Clock or Barry clock in Barry Island. Taken in the early fifities. You may well have been too young to have remembered it. Not sure but I think it got taken down when Butlins bought the land at Jacksons Bay

The other half did not know what is was either he has only just seen it Laughing Laughing

Bless you Carolyn! It's been a while since I've been too young for anything! I still think some cryptic photos of Aber might make a regular nice feature on the home page?

I think it would be a good idea too it is suprising what a difference a decade can make of a memory of ones past experiences. I am glad someone remembed it.

People over a certain age may remember as a strange phenomenon. People from all over South Wales and many other parts no doubt out on their annual outing would migrate to the clock on the green just before the hour to watch it come alive and hear the recored message and people would cheer or clap as the hour struck. Laughing A rite of passage, herding or a tribal ritual maybe? but the same thing went on year after year.
"nowt as queer as folk" Smile
