Replace what exactly? The town, the bridge or St. Michaels. Your message is a little vague. Could you offer a more constructive comment. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
With two shops ? _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Hmmm interesting planning, what is the point in having a car park if there are no shops. You are not a local councillor by any chance? They have had more support for Ebbw Vale than this town in the past _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Not so sure what you mean on a money mart, when I think about a "mart" I think about Asda, which is not like our pound shop. I have seen some photos of the shopping malls in Canada sent by my friend out there. They are spectacular. Our pound shop means that everything sold in the shop costs a £, could be two or three items for a £ but the total price is one pound that you expect to pay at the counter for each individual purchase, if that makes sense. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
I think he made the same point in an article over two years ago "Quaint it aint". Completely bulldozing the town I would think definitely not an affordable option, however inviting. Filling in the land from the bridge to the library I think would be a good idea, the bridge is no longer needed the land has collected debis being a fly tipping paradise for years, no matter how many times it has been cleared. The stench walking up from the library or sat waiting for a bus in the summer months is sickening. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Filling in the land from the bridge to the library would be a good idea and then the bridge would not be needed as solid ground would be there for the road to run on. I know that there seems to be historcal value in the old bridge under the so called new one but how many times must this bridge be closed for repairs. Also it would cleanup the back of town as you said.
We were talking to some of the contactors, from Manchester I believe who were working on, or underneath the new building, Anvil Court over a year ago. They claimed that the bridge was in an appalling state and must have been like it for years, the worst they had ever seen and they had worked all over the place in Britain, they were afraid everytime their crew had to cross the bridge and said it would not even take the weight of a small cherry picker -maybe that is why Santa changed his route last year to turn on the Xmas lights.
They said they could not understand how the local council had allowed it to remain in the state it was especially as they could see no reason for keeping it as it was beyond repair now and the building of a new one a senseless waste of money.
Any idea what the estimated cost would be to build a new bridge. The bulding of that canopy (unecessary) in Ebbw Vale cost an arm and a leg and went way over budget. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
No idea what the cost would be to build a new bridge but you can bet if a bridge in EBBW VALE was structurely unsound it would soon be pulled down and a new one built in it's place and probably have a bloody canopy as well.
