Britain will become a “cold shoulder society” by 2020 as a result of David Cameron’s election, former Welsh Secretary Peter Hain has warned as he urges Labour to stay true to the values of “democratic socialism”.
The former Labour Neath MP claims the manifestos put forward by the major parties in the Westminster election were “pigmy-like” in their lack of ambition.
With his party’s leadership race gathering pace, Mr Hain criticises the tone of the three leading candidates and insists that the financial crisis was not a result of the deficit run by the last Labour Government.

Ian Jones has admitted to being a pessimist and in my humble opinion he is the one and only person on this Forum or the media in general who would believe evil outweighs the good and that bad things are more likely to happen What a gloomy joyless un hopeful life to live Constantly expecting the worse Ian pessimist Jones would wish to drag Peter Hain into his world of doom and gloom
Rhondda AM Leighton Andrews has been criticised over his comments on Twitter describing Labour's leadership contest as "English Labour's" contest
'I don't care who wins the Labour leadership,' says Welsh Labour Minister Leighton Andrews.
A senior party member in Wales, who did not wish to be named, told us: “It’s all very well for Leighton to dismiss the significance of who wins the leadership contest.
(((((( Typical of the spineless way Labour operate that "a senior party member" doesn't wish to be named.
If you're going to say something then put your name to it )))))))
“And it’s wrong to suggest that the leader only has responsibilities in England. In five years time we will be fighting across Britain to win a majority of seats in England, Scotland and Wales, and to form a government for the whole of the UK.
(((( Um i don't think that will be happening in my lifetime, but then again i have been called pessimistic ))))
