COPIED FROM THE OLD MESSAGE BOARD
The firefighters at Blaina Fire Station are holding a charity carwash on Saturday 16th September 2006 in aid of The Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, The Thomas Hughes Appeal and Martin Hodgkiss. The FSNBF helps serving and retired firefighters and their families. Thomas Hughes is a 7 year old from Blaina who suffers from a mystery condition which means that he is unable to walk or talk. He attends a centre in Oxford for treatment and some of the funds raised will go towards more sessions. Martin Hodgkiss is a 35 year old firefighter at Abergavenny station who has tragically been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He has a wife and young children. Come along to Blaina Fire Station between 9.30am and 4pm and have your car washed and help these worthwhile causes!
