GWENT singing sensation Elizabeth Tiley will be the special guest at this year’s Rotary St David’s Day concert.

Elizabeth, of Abertillery, studied music at Cardiff University, where she gained a degree in the summer of 2008.

During her time at Cardiff she won the coveted Sir Geraint Evans Award for Singing in 2007 and again in 2008 for her final recital when she performed a varied repertoire including works by Weber, Wolf, Handel, Debussy and Barber.

Elizabeth has performed as guest soloist with Abertillery Orpheus Male Voice Choir, Beaufort Male Voice Choir, Cwm and Ebbw Vale Male Choirs, Gwent Police Choir; Risca Male Voice Choir and the Torfaen Choral Society with whom she performed both the Faure Requiem and Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art.

A former member of the National Youth Choir of Wales, Elizabeth has also enjoyed performing choral works throughout Wales.

In addition to her classical repertoire, she enjoys singing musical theatre numbers and has performed on numerous occasions with West End Phantom of the Opera star Peter Karrie.

Elizabeth is also an accomplished pianist and violinist.

The 2009 concert will be the tenth consecutive annual concert and will be sponsored by Redrow Homes.

This year’s concert will raise funds for the Mayor’s Appeal and other Rotary charities.

The show will also feature the Abertillery Orpheus Male Choir and the Glyncoed Primary School Choir.

The show takes place on Saturday, February 28 at the Beaufort Theatre, call 01495 355800 or 01495 304340 for tickets.
