Will someone please come and shoot me? Just spent 1.5 hours mowing the front lawns and I still have to do the back I love the hot weather but it really isn't for working in.
If I could muster the strength I would put you out of your misery. Too hot for me I am staying indoors with a cool fan til later, him indoors is flat out in his lazy boy with a can of Old English watching the cricket. The nicest thing about this type of weather is the lovely evenings sit on your lawn later but don't mow it. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Yet another hot and sticky night. Weather warning again for Wednesday there is a heat wave on the way? Thought it was already here looks like we have more to come.
I am confined to the house for one or two days, cannot say I am sorry Phew! Mouse potatoe I will be it is far better than getting scorched. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Yes it is too hot for me thats for sure, and this is the only time where I am actually looking forward to work as in Tillery Valley Foods Freezer!! _________________ Close the door, put out the light, you know they wont be home tonight.
Phew! Wish we had the old outdoor pool now. I would be first off with my cozzie and towel under me arm. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
I can only remember going to the pool at the park once. Is the pool still there and what year did it close?
Abergavenny outdoor pool was still open until some years ago and I went there a few times with the kids. Unfortunately that one has gone too now. I think they are something of a rarity nowadays.

I have been in Birmingham living for the past 30 years but I can remeber the open pool in Abertillery Park had some great times there especially the school hols. The indoor pool had just been built when I left Abertillery if I remember correctly it was near the Council Offices.
Yes it was near the council offices. However the pool has now been closed at that site - the building is still used as an indoor bowling centre. A new leisure centre has been built where tyleri court stood.
Oh and the council offices is no more either. It has been replaced with a block of flats.

Thanks for your reply. I havent been back home for a few years the last time I came down was a few years ago to bring my father's ashes back to be put in his mam and dad's grave at St Pauls Cemetry. It wasn't a very nice day so couldn't look around to much. Did notice how Cwmtillery Lakes has changed I can remember swimming in the sheep dip when it was hot. It looks a nice place now to have picnics.
The valley is so green now they have closed the pits. I use to live in Gwern Berthi Road.
Do anyone know of anybody that use to live it that area.
Phew too hot to sleep I am melting. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
Hi again. I was living in Brookside Row around 30 years ago and I knew some people - mostly children admittedly - at the top end of Gwern Berthi/Winifred Terrace/etc.
Still too hot for me, sticky nights are the worst. This board is neat tho hello Martyn, tickles me to death. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!

Hi did you have some rain, thunder and lightening today, it has cleared the air in Birmingham, it is nice and fresh at present but according to the weather forecast we are going back to the hot weather for the next 10 days. Well I suppose I could do what some people are doing in Birmingham go to our Town Square and cool off under the fountain.
