Thats them! All my childhood in Richmond Road I remember that June did my mums hair. I called her Aunty June...as you know anyone that was a family friend could be called aunty. It wasnt until I started my family tree that I discovered my great grandfather Mark married a Harriet Harvey from Chew Magna in Somerset.
That got me thinking that maybe Howards family were relatives. I am hoping that someone from the Harvey family might have tree info that could confirm this? There arent enough of my rellis left to ask this sort of question now!
I may have asked this before but are we of a similar age? Did you go to BSM? or the grammar?

Hi
don`t personally know if any of the Harvey family are still alive. One daughter called  Betty was a bus conductress for years  she used to work  .on Red and White buses  I think she must have worked with your
Dad at  one time, She lived on Bywaters Row for many years
My mother was 91 years when she died and I know that  both the
Harvey Grandparents had died years before her.
I went to the Grammar school and would think I`m nearer your mum`s age than yours  well maybe not !!! but I have daughters of 49years and 47 years.

I was born in 54, which put me in Bryngwyn School around the mid 60's! Those were the days my friend....etc
Im 55 now so younger than you and older than your daughters...thats my luck as usual! Crying or Very sad
I left Abertillery to go in the Marines in 1970. Ive actually only been back 3 or 4 times since. I did stay with mum in Newport for a while but my feet started itching again and I was off.
Now that Im in my dotage I find that I am drawn back in memories to those halcyon days of endless summers, playing up the 2 sisters or further afield. Bonfire night down on the flat behind the Presbyterian Chapel. Going to the saturday morning pictures on the Jones bus. Toffee apples given by a lady who lived at the bottom of Bryngwyn Road. Who was that lovely woman?

Hi Marj,
Do you have contact with June? If so could you tell her you heard from Jack and Ruth Easons son Adrian. I have been doing the family tree and discovered my great grandfather, Mark Easton, married a woman called Harriet Harvey from Chew Magna in Somerset.
When we lived in Richmond Road my mum always referred to June as aunty so I want to ask her if we are really related.?
Thanks
