| Quote: | A NEW chapter in the history of Wales’ libraries will begin with the launch of a £10.5m project to transform the nation’s services.
Heritage Minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas yesterday launched the three-year project with the pledge to upgrade a fifth of Wales’ libraries with better internet access, longer opening hours, better lighting and more disabled toilets and baby changing rooms.
He said: “Libraries enrich the lives of people in Wales at all life stages so it is very important that we look after the network and make the right investments in facilities, staff development and marketing to keep libraries vibrant, relevant and accessible.
