Could be up to 20 apparently. Although at the rate they seem to walk out of Prescoed I am not sure they would ever get to that figure
It would be interesting to know the difference in the rate of absconding from open prisons for sex offenders compared to other offenders. I am wondering if the fact that sex offenders know their movement and activity will be tracked upon leaving prison makes them more likely to abscond and go underground?
Either way I wouldn't feel any safer for my family tonight living near Usk - although we're hardly the other side of the world ourselves are we?
I do not think sex offenders should be in open prison, they should be locked up for as long as it takes, personally I do not think some of the worst offenders can ever really be rehabilitated. Even if they are tracked and their movements known, how long does it take to assault someone. Yes they may well be more easily identified and caught but what of their poor victims, they have to live with them memory for life often trapped in their own homes for frear that they may someday be attacked again. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more!
