Without wishing to sound like a member of the 'hang-em-flog-em' brigade... what the hell were these two doing in an open prison????

Could not agree more, it beggers belief that they would be in an open prison after both receiving life sentences. The sentences metored out to serious offenders seem all to lenient to me they serve a few years at most and then live the life of luxury at the expense of the tax Payer. Who knows they may also have been out long enough to purchase a lottery ticket, just as well since rapists are allowed to keep their winnings.

The case of Maxine Carr for one and Ian Huntley, now moved to a luxurious prison hospital, with private room, plazma TV, computer, shop and smoking room. £85.00 a week incapacity benefit, plus premiums and allowed to earn £15 within the unit.
