|A SERIES of remembrance services are set to take place across the borough this Sunday.
In Abertillery, a parade will assemble at the lower end of Tillery Street at 10.15am, making its way to the war memorial where a service will take place at 10.45am.
After the ceremony, the parade will march to the Salvation Army Citadel, Hill Street, for a remembrance service organised by the Royal British Legion.
In Llanhilleth, people are asked to arrive at St Markís Church at 10.15am ahead of a service at the Llanhilleth Institute Cenotaph at 10.45am.
A parade is also set to form at 10.20am outside the British Legion, Beaufort Street, Brynmawr, before a service takes place at the Market Hall at 11am. Wreaths will then be laid at the war memorial in Brynmawr at 11.40am before the parade returns to the British Legion Club.
In Cwm, people are set to gather at the site of the Old Dyffryn School at 10.20am, before a remembrance services takes place at the war memorial at 10.45am.
In Ebbw Vale, a parade will assemble in Bethcar Street at 10.15am, before a ceremony at the war memorial at 10.45am.
The parade will re-form on Libanus Road, and proceed to Market Street, for a salute.
Youth organisations and other members of the parade may then proceed to the Learning Action Centre, Market Street, where refreshments will be available.
A Service of Remembrance will be held in St Davidís Church, Carmeltown, at 6pm.
In Nantyglo, a service will take place at 2.45pm at the war memorial in Central Park.
After the ceremony, the parade will re-form and march to Blaina via Surgery Road.
A salute will then be taken by the Mayor of Blaenau Gwent, Mike Bartlett, and the Mayor of Nantyglo and Blaina Town Council, Peter Baldwin, outside the former Nantyglo and Blaina Town Council offices.
In Bournville, a remembrance service will take place in the Community Hall at 3pm, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial.
Residents of Tredegar can attend a service at St James Church, Poplar Road, at 10.15am, and a ceremony will also take place at the war memorial at Bedwellty Park at 10.45am. An evening service is scheduled at the Community Centre in Soffryd this Saturday. (November 12).
