  My Dad always spoke of this pit,  have a few old photo`s, I believe that they are Six Bells Pit

It looks more like Cwmtillery Washery to me.
Have you any more photos to compare.

M.J.D.   you might be right, Dad spoke about the washery, wish I had listened more, years ago,  have a few more pics will sort them out, also I have some pics of my own, taken in the 60s, what I believe is Six Bells Pit  Dave    Dave

Yes that is Cwmtillery washery.  The houses in the background is Gwern Berthi Rd . The colliery is just off camera to the right
