Has anyone found the piece written by Julian Meek mentioned on the CALON competition link on the home page? I am sure I am being thick but I can't see it.

The last time I saw Julian was in the library but I also have him on video aged approx 10 or 11 appearing in the British School production of the Emperors New Clothes.

Do not take my word for it Martyn because I am begining to believe I am going Ga Ga but I thought the piece by Julian was in the book Mr Vogel but then I didn't look for it anywhere else.

No folks - my fault. I lifted the text for the competition page straight from the Cwmtillery Communities First newsletter "CALON". I should have taken out the bit about Julian's poem for the web page.

I print Julian's poem NIGHT, which I think it is brilliant, below.

I have also now placed the December06 -January 07 edition online CALON which should be of great interest if you live in the Cwmtillery Ward (at least hopefully!) - all households in the ward should have received a paper copy through the door by now though.

It can be found at http://www.tillerycommunitiesfirst.info/cwmtillery/calon/

The poem:-

Night

and on a bus
conversation recedes
decreases with each stop
each alighting pair

till in the end
only a drunk remains
tearing up tickets
and muttering at the moon

JULIAN MEEK

Not so daft then Martyn I just assumed it was in the book cos there was nothing there. I think it is brilliant too but then he is a very clever guy
