Aberfest 08 updateUpdate - Saturday 31st MayThe full programme will be available on the Aberfest 08 website www.aberfest.info this week coming week. Among the highlights to date are: Saturday 28th June - Welsh Folk Dancing, Street Stalls, Craft Fair, Museum Street Party Sunday 29th June - Abertillery 10K and Fun Run, The Great Outdoors Event at Cwmtillery Lakes Monday 30th June - Health Roadshow, Bat Walk Tuesday 1st July - Professor Bumm's Story Machine show, Abertillery Schools Multicultural Festival and Showcase Wednesday 2nd July - Six Bells Heritage Walk, John Selway's Stations of the Cross opening (plus Ffin Dance and Stephen David Quartet), Cheese and Wine tasting, Sports personality awards Thursday 3rd July - Steeped in History Heritage Walk, Media Magic, Return to the Wicked Stage (Peter Karrie, KidsRus, The Girls and Aberbelles), Abertillery MegaQuiz Friday 4th July - One of Wales' top bands hits The Met as Wales meets America on Independence Day Saturday 5th July - Classic Vehicle Show, Fete, 5-a-side football tournament, and the super Saturday Night Showcase The intention is to make it one of the best community festivals in Wales and so if you or your community group wants to be part of it, please ring 01495 354723 or email aberfest@tillerycommunitiesfirst.info. We are looking also for volunteers to help with organising the festival so if you want to help out in any way you can, however big or small, again please get in touch. |
