This year’s Abertillery community festival - Aberfest 08 - will be taking place between Saturday 28th June and Saturday 5th July with the Abertillery Community Partnership and Communities First again helping to organise it. It is hoped to build on the tremendous success of last year’s festival and already a good number of exciting events have been arranged by local community groups and organisations.

The intention is to make it one of the best community festivals in Wales and so if you or your community group wants to be part of it, please ring 01495 354723 or email aberfest@tillerycommunitiesfirst.info

We are looking also for volunteers to help with organising the festival so if you want to help out in any way you can, however big or small, again please get in touch.

Thanks again to all involved in planning, organising, performing and participating in the Aberfest events. We managed to take in a few and really enjoyed them.

Many apologies to the lady who reserved us tickets for the cheese and wine party whilst we were at the quiz night - I'm sorry I missed your name. Hopefully you got the message I gave to the Corner Club that we couldn't make it. We were genuinely looking forward to it but as luck would have it a couple of tons of paving slabs I'd ordered were delivered that day.

If it is any consolation for us messing you about we spent a pretty miserable time moving them from the pavement into the garden in torrential rain while you were enjoying the food and drink Crying or Very sad
