Abertillery the In Place for Political Figures

On The Light Side it's been noted that Nick Smith MP is gracing us with his presence at Tesco in a few weeks time.

Nick Griffin MEP, Chairman of the BNP was in Aber the weekend before last apparently.
(For anyone who doesn't know, there is highly likely to be a BNP candidate for Abertillery Ward)

I wonder who else will turn up in order to try to wrest control from the Independents?

Come on Sinn Fein, put someone up in Cwmtillery !!  Twisted Evil
Eddie legge

Grow Up Rocke

Grow up councilor
The spouting of nonsense and
rummor for the benifit of political gain
is not what a supposedly respected
councilor should be doing

Eddie Legge
Rocke

What do you mean 'rumour' ?

He was seen, there are witnesses.
I said 'apparently' to indicate that it was not me that saw him and his smart-suited henchmen.

Are you not aware that the BNP is putting up a candidate in Abertillery ward then ?

And are you aware that Labour are not contesting all three seats in that Ward?

And the BIG one.

Will the Labour Party inform the public why, in the face of a BNP challenge for a seat in Abertillery Ward, it has failed to field enough candidates to fight them off ?

Defenders of the working classes doesn't mean absolute defenders of human rights then ?

Never mind, leave it to the public you so steadfastly treat as idiots.
Rocke

Is 'Eddie Legge' writing in invisible font ?

Nominations start on Monday.
Labour will have an opportunity to see if what I am saying comes to fruition.

It will have until midday 4th April to nominate another candidate in order to ensure that any other candidate doesn't get in unopposed ( as often happens in Town Council elections).

Or does it want John, Nigel and Steve to protect Abertillery from being the first Ward in Wales to elect a County Borough BNP Councillor?

Not exactly the sort of publicity we'd want is it ?
stoob

Spot on Rocke, seen him in Church Street.

AM IN THE AREA NOT SPOTED

Acording to Gwent Gazette Thursday April 5
Blaenau Gwent AM Alun Davies along with the Education
and Skills Minister Leighton Andrews paid a visit to the
threatend Remploy factory in Abertillery
A meeting was held to discuss viable options that could be pursued
in order to help safeguard jobs

Eddie Legge
Rocke

No Labour councillor then ?

Strange that.
I'd welcome anyone onto my patch that would support them and our attempts to help.

It's simple enough I'd have thought.

Welsh Government.... a few thousand quid ( a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of printing bilingually ).... factory saved.

Ask your mates to do it then Eddie.
After all, actions speak louder than words (in an AM Election Year certainly).

My confidence is such that I'll be preparing a case on the basis that the WG do nothing, and even BG do little.

I think it's time Aberystywth Al started to prove that he was effective to the people who elected him, don't you ?
stoob

Not that it's political but when the first Gwent Gazette was published on Thursday 01 May 1969 the lead article was Abertillery Remploy has started production on 3,000 souvenir cushions to be used at Caernavon for the investiture of the Prince of Wales.
Hmmm....Ebay.
Rocke

That's unbelievable.

One Abertillery businessman has helped out to a small extent ( his contribution isn't small, but the effect is, due to circumstances beyond the site's control ).

In one of my other lives I'm looking to see if there's enough potential that I can, with my public hat on, put a case to the council, to see if we can show that around here we really do look after ours.

Anything else you've found that they've done?
(I know their grub was great when they were down in Bridge St).
stoob

Rocke

The article states that Mr. Glyn Thomas the works manager informed the Gazette that 12 of the 70 disabled production workers would be working on the project.
All the cutting and machining would be carried out at the factory and the cushions would be made out of vermillion Welsh worsted.
In the centre of the cushion is a metal moulded button, bearing a Prince of Wales feather motif. They are edged with gold braid and at each end there is a gold lurex tassle.
They will be placed on seats at Caernarvon for the Investiture. Whoever purchases a seat will be able to keep the cushion.

Amen

Yes i can confirm that Nick Griffin was in abertillery on the 11th Feb. I saw on the corner of somerset st and high st. He did have a few thugs with him. And there were few of his thugs in church st, they had a table with there filth on

If you look carefully you might be able to see the slime where he was
Rocke

Says it all doesn't it ?

We have the BNP as a 'live runer' to be the FIRST BNP COUNTY COUNCILLOR IN WALES, and 'Welsh Labour' fail to put up enough candidates to prevent that.

Let's hope that 3 'Independent' candidates can hold the fort.

Cllr McCarthy's CV includes an arrest on the picket line, fighting for Trade Union freedoms and rights.

AND THERE'S HIS PARTY, YEARS ON, FAILING TO DO ALL IT CAN TO ENSURE THAT THERE ARE NO BREACHES OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN THIS AREA.

Let me remind, or inform, people that when Poland was invaded many, many Poles came here to what was then Great Britain.

Not for shelter, but to support a country that was not only prepared but able to stand up to the viscious regime that was the Nazis.

A Polish Spitfire squadron had the greatest number of kills supporting THIS country's stance against oppression.

Keith and Dickie need to free themselves from 'The Leader' if they are to have a chance.
Anthony Earl-Williams

soapbox

and it was only many decades later that what the Poles had done for us was finally recognised.
My great friend Countess Lubicz-Piotrowska carried bombs across Warsaw in a basket with eggs on top. She was eventually interned in a German labour camp and managed to survive, coming to London after the War. She never saw her beloved Poland again.
The Poles of her generation were true heroes, as were many Czechs.
Quite where the BNP and human rights come into the picture, I don't know. They have a clear message which is relevant to parts of the country, but not, surely, to Abertillery.
It is a section of the mohammedans who are trying to remove our human rights. In Homs, Syria, the Christian population has been forcibly removed from their homes. They have nearly all fled. Our churches there have been burned - not by President Assad and his so-called "regime of tyranny" but by the very Opposition mohammedan extremists who want to take control. The West should stop interfering and trying to bring their European ideas of "democracy" to places which have never had that model. Please pray for the Syrian Christians who have had their homes looted - and who were there before mohammedanism was ever invented!
Pity the Blaenau Gwent Conservatives are so damned lazy and couldn't put up a few candidates. We were hoping a certain Pakistani gentleman was going to put up for us in Cwmtillery - but perhaps that was  only a rumour.
Christine Tidey for Cwmtillery - oh! and you too, Rocky. What would it be like without you!

yes, coming from Abertillery, you really DO know all about the changing population of this country!!   I don't think!
What is the matter with all you left wing idiots?
As a gay man I have far less to fear from the BNP (whom I would never vote for) than I do from the evil mohammedan sect.  I would be hanged from a crane if I lived in Iran.
The mohammedan cult is going to take over this country in the next 30 years. Maybe, as a heterosexual, non-Christian man (which, I presume, is your situation) you don't care about this!!!
Saeson

I`m not from Abertillery, but don`t tell anybody. I`ve even lived in London so I`m well acquainted with your fancy city ways. And better a left-wing idiot than a right-wing bigot.

I would suggest that you look closer to your own religion for those hate filled nutcases. I`m sure some of those Christian (because in the end that`s what you are, n`est ce pas?) all-American Southern Bible bashers would like to do more than just hang you from a crane.

The BNP`s beliefs and practices are well-documented so need no further explanation from me; it beggars belief that any right thinking (as opposed to right leaning) person would want to vote for a party like that. I would, of course, always defend their right to field candidates and to hold the beliefs they do. Putting those beliefs into practise (and believing they have the right to do so) is another matter.
leighandrews

Antony earl willams Why have you sent me a private message about the BNP and slaging of muslin people as people who will take over this country in 30 years

I think you should look at your own religion before you slag off other people,s religion. You,s has not got a good track record

And as a man of the cloth you do not seam to be a man you could turn do, if you needed to speak to some one

So why did you not put the message on the forum so every one could read it ?

you are clearly a twisted, bitter person with an axe to grind.
Your response is not even logical.
Protestants who condemn homosexuality because of their unintelligent interpretation  of holy Scripture are not killing us - mohammedans are.
Gay lads hanged from cranes and women stoned for adultery; or, in Pakistan, having acid thrown in their faces when they choose to leave a husband whom they didn't want to marry in the first place. What would a "straight" man know about such small events, so far away!  It is "straight" men like you who cause most of the problems in the world - including all wars!!!
Because I consider that the immigration to this country in the last 30 years has proved a disastrous mistake does not mean that I am a "bigot". I have a black sister-in-law whom I love and other Jamaican and Indian friends.
The Christians of Homs have all been expelled from their homes in the last month and our churches there torched. We were in Syria before the mohammedan cult was even invented.
President Assad did not do this to us - the rebels whom the West so admire DID.

Anyway, rumour has it that the BNP will be about tomorrow.
Think I'll look out for my old schoolmate Mr Urch.

Last time I spoke to him he apologised for going after my job.
I asked him 'what job is that' and  he said 'the Council'.

I said 'which one?' and he said 'what do you mean'.

I said 'I work for one and try to run another'.

He said 'oh, the one you're running'.

I said 'why are you going to stand in Cwmtillery then Bri?'

He said 'You're Cwmtillery are you?'

I said 'Yes'

He said 'Oh good. I won't be standing against you then. We can be councillors together'.

It's a funny old game......
Anthony Earl-Williams

BNP

Who is this chap standing for the BNP, anyway?  Were you at school with him, Rocky??
I shouldn't worry: the Independents will sweep the board, apart from Mrs Tidey in Cwmtillery who is genuinely the only Labour person whom I have ever supported in my entire life! She is a good woman!
Please don't tell Mr. Cameron as I do not wish to be drummed out of the Tory Party.....
Wishing you great success,
Anthony
Rocke

Thanks Anthony.

Brian and I went through Grammar School together, then Comprehensive Education intervened.

Is this addressed to me or your friend that you PM`d earlier? If it`s me then I can tell you I am neither clearly bitter nor twisted. Nor the bumpkin you seem to think most Abertillery residents are. Some of us do read big newspapers and we`ve got passports. You on the other hand are very easy to antagonise and do yourself no favours with some of stuff you write.  I can honestly say that I have never come across anyone in your position (although I confess I don`t actually know what that is - I`ll Google it) who openly holds such views as you. Perhaps you are a professional religious guy, 9 to 5 and all that; I`m sure it must be a job with quite a few perks. I don`t believe for one minute that you can be a real Christian. So correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to be suggesting that we should commit acts of violence towards 'Mohammedans' which in my view doesn't appear to be very Christian and somewhat ignorant, especially as you clearly don't understand the underlying tensions that brought about the regime changes in any of the Arab Spring countries, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but religion wasn't actually a big factor. The lack of food, jobs and the apathy the 'leaders' have towards the young. (Quite apt for the current government maybe?)

Further, you claim to be a member of the Conservatives yet the Prime Minister, who last time I checked was Leader of the Conservatives, was one of the leading figures who suggested that the Global Community should impose sanctions on the status quo in the Arab Spring and of course helping the 'Mohammedan's' in Libya bring about the fall of Gaddafi. If you do feel as strongly about this as you state, why not resign your membership of the Conservatives because they're principles clearly aren't the same yours.

Catholicism by the way isn't squeaky clean. Catholic NGOs are currently working in Africa and more and more Africans throughout the continent are turning towards the religion. Which of course means they won't use contraception and when they do procreate have a higher risk of contracting HIV and passing it onto their newborn. Which of course will put a greater strain on resources. What is the phrase 'Let he who be without sin cast the first stone'?

What this is to do with the politics of Abertillery however I'll never know

Liam

PS you're negating your all argument with petty little insults. Grow up.
Anthony Earl-Williams

politics in Abertillery

The fall of the so-called dictators in Iraq and Egypt has lead to violent mohammedan persecution of the Christian minorities.
The same has now happened in Homs in Syria. This is verified by the Catholic worldwide Charity 'Aid to the Church in Need' and the Holy Father knows this to be the case. Even the BBC (Radio 4) did a news feature on this, after many complaints that it was blind to the plight of our people in the very lands where they have lived since the earliest times of Christianity.
I don't care two hoots what Mr Cameron thinks about this, I speak first as a Catholic bishop. Christians are being persecuted in many mohammedan countries - yet this was not so Iraq and Egypt (and now Syria) before the West with its own ideas of 'democracy' started to interfere in things that don't concern it.
As for Africa, it needs 3 things: clean drinking water, vaccinations AND contraception! Oh, and the end to corrupt dictatorships in many places.
It is you who should grow up and face the terrible threat to our country.
And don't bother to send another abusive message. It will be deleted unread.

Yes, as a Catholic I do pray daily, as all Catholics should, for the destruction of the world-wide, evil mohammedan cult.
It is CHRIST who alone MUST REIGN! Without belief in Him and His Saving Work on the Cross, there is no salvation.

Egypt

yes, "so-called".  Their standards are not ours.
You are not a Roman Catholic, by your re-action to what I say about the mohammedan heresy, therefore you are entirely unable to comprehend what I mean, and why traditional Catholics regard this cult (which originated as an heretical Christian sect) as pure poison and the work of the devil.
By the way, your rude reply to Mr. Legge shows you in a bad light, and not as a very kind man!    That also, I realise, you will not understand.
Why do no women send vitriol down these tubes? Answer: because it is aggresive, heterosexual men who are ruining the world!

A.E.W I find your remarks about "Heterosexual men" offensive.
If anyone used the same kind of remark against a gay person that would be very wrong.
And with respect, you should read back on some of your own comments about the people of Abertillery and the Valleys before you verbally chastise Dai 6 or anyone else, they were not exactly Christian comments.
My post is not intended to provoke more anger from you, I just think some of your comments are right on the edge of common descency and maybe over it at times when it comes to Other people's faith's and sexual orientation.

Hello all

Just to clarify, I have not removed stoob's photo. He was kind enough to check with me prior to posting it and I told him I would only remove it if anyone found it offensive. No one has and so it has not been removed. I'm not sure why it isn't visible. If has been removed from the photo-sharing website it was uploaded to then obviously that would explain it, but I'm not sure if that has happened of course.

Can I also make an appeal to get this topic back on thread? I am not trying to stifle debate on the issues raised but if they are kept to a different thread then it allows those who aren't interested to avoid them.

Many thanks.

No not a "racist" (the word is a PC invention in itself), just somebody who hates the mohammedan religion, though NOT any individual who practices it.
My black sister-in-law whom I love, also feels the same about momammedanism. I presume you are not religious and will not understand the threat it poses to this country. If you live in Abertillery, you are not confronted with reality.
I knew somebody injured in the Kings Cross bombing outrage in 2005, a dear chum who might have died - thank you very much.
NONE of my neighbours (some of them Labour) have a good word to say about this particular creed either. We know - we live here! Their silly women who go about garbed in black from top to toe often DON'T choose this: their husbands and fathers tell them to, as a local Secondary School Headmistress, friend of mine, could assure you. Their fathers also tell them how to vote, and at several Elections we have called the police because of this illegal activity at polling stations regarding their fraud.
And,yes, at Mass we do pray for their conversion to CHRIST, which is the case in many traditional Catholic parishes, and is, anyway, the duty of Christians.

My clear mistake has been to stoop into such political territory with left wing chip-on-shoulder people like you.  There are more Conservatives (from ordinary terraced houses) in Abertillery than you may think. Many have told me to stop posting because it is pointless. You, by the way, are apparently known in Abertillery to be an "unpleasant" little man.  So they say......
As we say in Czech: do prdele!

Ooh, Tony you`re just too hard to resist!

I am not totally anonymous, but very few people know who I am and anyway I`m not well known in Abertillery at all, so your "unpleasant little man" bitch slap was a wild stab in the dark. Missed  Laughing

I am also not the "left wing chip-on-shoulder" person you think I am (although it goes without saying that I don`t care what you think), but your kind of bigotry, particularly from one masquerading as a Christian, just brings out the socialist in me. You can visit as many prisoners as you like, but that does not make you a man of God. Your postings on this and many other threads show you for what you really are.

Dear Ian,
No, I am not he! I did once meet him at a Charity Flower Show in Chelsea Town Hall in 1970 when I was a student at London University. I recall it was a "Lord Roberts Workshops" do, to help disabled servicemen.
The cleverest disappearing act I can think of.
Some say that a town like Abertillery would be quite a good vanishing solution (though I personally think less gossip in the broader, more spread out Ebbw Vale), rather than the Scottish Highlands.
Have an enjoyable weekend.

Thanks for the PM. Thought I`d share it with the rest of this boring township. Spice up our dull lives. One thing I dislike more than bigots is bullies. Nice try anyway.

Your cyber friends may think I`m unpleasant, but they don`t know who I am I can assure you. They clearly don`t know who you are either.

".....unpleasant little man was, I assure you, relayed to me by several people.
For all I know, you could be 6'4", but five people have told me that you are "unpleasant" in private messages, two of whom DID say "unpleasant little man".  A great deal of the Cybertillery messaging is private with far more pleasant outcomes than the public boards.
And you certainly are unpleasant with a chip on your shoulder.
Am I not allowed to air the view of the majority of Christians, that the mohammedan creed is slowly taking hold in our cities and seeping into their fabric?  Does that make me mad?
I presume you are a heterosexual man, thus what would you care if gay lads are hanged from cranes in Iran?  This poison is slowly taking over the world. NO!  Of course, you don't agree. Living there, how could you? George Galloway is proof enough - for the time being.
It is YOU who loves the sound of his voice, disaffected as you must be in a narrow minded, little valley.
Rocke has the courage of his convictions and stands for election.
Why don't you?

I will not reply to any more of your posts. I have a good relationship with Martyn, the Administrator, and see no reason why I should continue communicating with an ill-bred man whose rage is that he is trapped in a boring life in a boring town.
Any Tory who has the audacity to speak out has to be shot down in anger and bitter spite.
You know absolutely NOTHING of my life and what I do for others.
Do prdele, indeed, as we say in Czech."

which says everything about you that anyone might wish to know.

Saeson - can I make it very clear that whether Anthony has had any private messages from anyone else I don't know, but I have never sent him a message even mentioning you, let alone criticising you. I don't think his message to you said I had, but you might have got that inference.

I think its time for admin to get involved.

I had hoped this thing would calm down of it's own accord. Obviously it won't. Anthony has been banned.

This isn't in repsonse to prompting from anyone else I'd like to make clear. I am more than capable of seeing where the line is drawn and when someone steps over it.

My email was intended just to make you aware. You had mentioned previously that you were busy lately. My post was intended to be a. My apologies if either gave a different impression to anyone.
