Abertillery war memorial 1928/written postcard/From Murial

I have a lovely postcard which is dated 23/6/1928 sent from Murial who shows her address as 1 George Street, Abertillery, The postcard write's "Dear Lavinia, I am sending you a photo of our War Memorial.  Hope you are well, sorry I have not wrote Murial."  Lavinia is my grandmother, who sadly is no longer with us, the postcard is titled Unveiling Ceremony by Viscount   Abertillery War Memorial.  The photo is similar to those I have found on Google, this photo is taken showing all the prime things, the memorial, the people taking part, the flag, its really nice, I have Googled Murial's address and I see that that is now a funeral directors, however that's not surprising after 85 year's.  I'm interested in any comments you may have.

There was a good turnout last year Dave and an even better one this year, and not all older people by any means.

As it happens I was the Legion's (self-appointed) 'official photographer' at this year's ceremony.

Quite a few pics to put up, including the communities of Bourneville and Blaenau Gwent.

Hopefully I'll get around to it tomorrow or Tues.

My earliest memory is of soldiers with red tabs on their khaki uniforms at the War Memorial with a lot of other people. I was told later that my aunt, the headmistress of Queen Street , had perched me on the wide windowsill of the teachers lavatory which faced the memorial. I was born in June 1924 and still have that image in my mind.
