Alma Street Abertillery in the early part of 20C

My father's family all came from Alma Street in Abertillery in the late part of the 1800s and the early part of the 1900s. His mother was Edith Maud Williams and she married Sydney Williams. My father, Cyril, had several siblings - Gwen, Haydn, Cliff, Bryn and Bronwen are the ones I know of. He also had an Auntie Verlie whose surname I don't know but who had a daughter.

Is there anyone who can give me any information on them? I'm quite desperate to find distant relatives.

Hi Dave

I don't know of your family but my paternal grandmother, Edith Maud Williams lived at 42 Alma Street before she married my grandfather who lived at 162. My great great great (I think) maternal grandmother was a Margaret Jones who married a William Williams in the mid 1800s. Perhaps your Jones is a relation of Margaret's?

Like you I hit a block and haven't been able to get any further which is why I posted on this Forum.

I wish I could help.

I'd be very grateful if you do find anything. I might add, don't leave it too long - I'm nearly 70 as it is!!
