Barber/Tanner familyI am looking for the family of my grandmother (born Kate Maud Sophia Barber in Abertillery in 1881). Her parents were Sarah and Fred Barber. Her first marriage was to Charles Tanner (born Glos, around 1873) in 1899 and she had (at least) two children with him: Reginald Tanner (b. 1902) and Hilda Tanner (b. 1906). She subsequently married my granfather (Albert Oakhill) and had 3 further children with him.
However, my father never mentioned his half-siblings, and I would love to know what happened to them. I suspect they were brought up by their father or by some other member of the Barber or Tanner family.
Kate had several siblings, but the one I know most about was her sister Sarah (b. 1884) who married a George Parfitt, and had three children: Horace, Cecil and Marian.
As far as I know, Sarah lived in Abertillery all her life - I have a letter from her written in 1955, with the address: 68 Aberbeog Road, Abertillery.
If anyone knows any of these people or their descendants, I'd love to hear from you!
