Brickell family world war 1

My great grandfather was Thomas Brickell who was killed in December 1916 in the first world war serving in the Oxford and Bucks light infantry. He was aged 46 and was taken back to Abertillery to be buried even though his address was in Birmingham. I was not aware of any of this until about 2 weeks ago and now I am trying to discover his story. His son was Thomas Reginald Brickell who I believe died of wounds received during the second battle of Ypres in May 1915 serving in the Cheshire Regiment and is buried in Boulogne.
I visited Abertillery when my grandmother took me to stay with relatives, I was aged about 4  so donít remember a lot. I find it very sad that my grandmother, Alice Brickell, lost her brother and then her father around eighteen months later.
I would be very pleased and interested if anyone has any information concerning this.

Rocke

Hello Tony.

Your great grandfather's grave is in St Pauls Churchyard, Cwmtillery.
It was photographed as part of the British War Memorial Project a few years back.

Please feel free to PM me for my email address, and I'll happily send you the photos and/or help with anything you would like.

Cheers.

Aaaaaaaaggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Sorry Tony - you have a reply.
