Church Street - and traffic.OK.
You've heard about Church Street being closed to traffic, closed to taxis and whatever else has been spouted.
OK, so now here's the latest situation:
In 1995 ( yes, 14 years ago, and 13 years before the previous administration lost control of the council ) the Council issued a Traffic Regulatory Order ( TRO ) banning vehicles from Church St.
Now, in 2009 - 14 years later - the Police intend to impose the conditions of the Order.
Interesting - for 13 years the Labour-led Council failed to get hold of the fact that its wishes weren't being upheld. Now we have people thinking that their taxis can't pick them up from The Mill, taxis thinking they can't pick up people from Ebenezer, and builders thinking they can't pi8ck up from Gallier's.
One of our local councillors is demanding a meeting with the Police later this week and me and other councillors are backing John Taylor.
