Councillor hosts Abertillery event in aid of Clic Sargent

Quote:
COUNCILLOR Mark Edwards is once again aiming to raise lots of money for a fantastic cause, with a charity evening at The Doll’s House Abertillery.

Like last year, Greg Creel of Celtic Pride MMA will be utilising his Brazilian Jiujitsu skills to out-grapple opponents for a gruelling eight-hour stretch on Saturday, June 12.

The Doll’s House will then host an evening of music featuring Raw Folk, High Spirits and David Grace.

This year’s event is in aid of Clic Sargent in conjunction with Tesco Abertillery, who selected it as its charity of the year.

The Cwmtillery councillor said: “I approached Nigel Richards who is the store manager as he is an old friend of mine and said I would organise the event if it would help with their fundraising activity.

“Nigel was really pleased to be offered the support as he knew Clic Sargent were supporting children throughout Blaenau Gwent and the whole of Wales.

“He has set a target to raise £1,000 from the evening.”

Tickets, priced at £5, are available from Tesco or from Coun Edwards, doors open at 7pm.
