Donald VINES b1927 - Queen Street, Abertillery

Our grandfather, Donald John Vines was born in 7 Queen Street, Abertillery on 1 July 1927.

His mother was Eleanor Ann Vines (nee Harris) she was married to Albert Vines.

Albert Vines we understand died in WW1 but this is yet to be confirmed.

Donald's father is listed on his birth certificate as Daniel Vines, however it is rumoured that his surname may have been Bennett and he changed his name to be in keeping with the mother of his child.

Donald passed away several years ago now and this mystery is leaving a great void in our family tree.

Can anyone fill in the gaps ?

Thank you for looking that up.
One part solved - think the second part is going to be more difficult!

The only Don Vines I knew from Abertillery moved to Borthmouth area in the 50s. If this is correct I know some of his history as I am related to him.

Hello,
Yes, Donald settled in Christchurch, Dorset (about 5 miles from Bournemouth) and all his family are still here!
I would love to know what you know about the family.
