Thank you for your help.
Lucy Hough was William Hough's dau
Albert Chalcroft married Lucy  and then  Cicellia Hough
One of William Hough day was my Great Grandmother Helena Lewis Hough who married Richard Hall, his son Robert Married Lousa Ambrey who father was James Ambrey-James married a 2nd time to Hannah Gibbons which caused a lot of friction so there was no contact with his new family.Nana lived at 33 Queen street when her dau married Walter Williams

I do know that William Hough married
Elizabeth Ann Daly (who died in 1913 Rock Villa Nantygo and a dau of their son John Lewis Hough, married a David Davies who lived at the Bungalow in Blaina

It would appear that many of the Hough family both male and female had Lewis as a middle name. So I am hoping that there will be a member of the Hough Line still living in the area who has the family bible

Abraham Hough had 3 boys and one girl. Gwendoline married
James Balwin. Vincent died in a pit Pit accident at Arley near Nueated
One of the hough's married into the Wyatt's who were from sis bells they lived in the last house next to Quuen Street School

James her brother married Elizabeth Ellen Young whose parents were William Young and Elvira Ann Young nee Morgan.
James and Ellen had at least 2 children one was Rebecca who married William Ronald Cobner
Alfred her other brother  married Doris Hodkinson and had one dau named Kathleen who married Jim Ruffles who I have met.

I would be grateful for any help that can be given.

Family History researching a few families

Saw a few yesterday on the census with the surname Chalcroft, 3 females working as servants on High Street, Abertillery, probably one of the pubs.
John Lewis Hough was on the 1901 census living Nantyglo, not that the address makes any sense.
I use the free online sites, then check the information when Ancestry have free weekends (generally on Bank Holidays), possibly be free military next week due to Passchandaele, but hopefully everything.

William Hough

Ah I have used the various family sites to research but not all births deaths and marriages were registered  so they are of no use. It is only from the extend family who have family bibles and or wills certificates etc who can make the difference in getting the true information and also obtaining their memories of family members who are deceased and that is why I am seeking members of the extended who can help in this way. I do know that there was a Hough family Bible which my Aunt Janie Jones nee Hall (Janie was married to Jacob Jones) who was one of Helena Lewis Hough's (married name Hall) daughter had such a bible so someone in the Abertillery,Blaina or Nantyglo has it,so I am hoping they will read these posts and contact me.
