Free speach is only accepted by people with free minds they are the only people that can digest other peoples views without taking offence
Its a good job we all don,t complain or stop using this board. What would all those who hate nu labour write about. I understand why people, myself included will not put our correct names on their postings or write on this forum because most of you on this board think we are idiots because we try to express our own points of views I know many people that read this site but are reluctant to join and express thier views. Two of my friends only come on the site to read Pams poems.

Good grief.

Sorry Martyn, 'Pams' poems amuse me too
I missed the removed one so can't comment on that.
I also think this forum has taken off in the last 6 months because of the diverse comments and opinions ('Pam' included).
Some posts are close to the knuckle - especially those about Hedley and Rocke, though they seem to take what is said on the chin and reply accordingly.

Sorry Jools I feel that Pams poems are livng proof that manure can grow legs and walk. No need to fret though a lot of people have no talent maybe someday she will go far if she catches the right train

I didn't see it either Jools, because I can't get on here as often as some.
Pam is no poet, that's a fact but it's the content that's causing the concern. It's honest, factual and very informative. Not the sort of stuff that anti Labour want on here, hence it's removal, I reckon. Long may it continue, Pam. Well done!

It isn't the content that bothers me as you'll see if you read my comments on pamcares' drivel. I am perfectly happy to see pro-Labour messages on here. It is the appalling standard of the 'poetry' I find distasteful.
If I disagree with the pro-Labourites (ie you and Hedley) I'll say so and I won't dress it up as an attack on your writing styles. Similarly, if you see me attack someone's substandard grasp of the basics of verse then don't assume it is attack on their politics.
You should really concentrate on getting your own thoughts in order rather than worrying about what other people might be thinking.

Quite simply you're wrong - I'm not anti-anyone when it comes to people expressing their views on this board; Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem, Plaid or whoever - I took the message off because it was a distasteful personal diatribe essentially and in this case I agreed with people who complained about it.
For your and other posters' knowledge, I have also removed messages in the past that have "attacked" you, hedleymccarthy and others, so your comments of bias are incorrect. Indeed I have edited such a posting today due to a request.
So, just because some posters don't agree with or oppose some of your views, political or otherwise, doesn't mean that the board admin is biased. They are entitled to their views just as you are. I try to keep an even hand but I haven't got the time, energy or inclination to spend every waking minute on this board ensuring everyone is adhering to the rules and spirit of the board. I rely on posters' goodwill and I would say 90%+ adhere to those. "Give and take" is fine but there is a line and I do my best to apply it evenly where necessary.

I agree with this view Jools and so I tend not to interfere where possible as people are fairly robust. If I do intervene, I get accused of censorship and if I don't I am accused of allowing perceived bias - so you can't win! C'est la vie - I won't lose sleep over it
By the way, the admin position will be available for someone else to take on in the next few weeks as I shall be relinquishing it. The Cybertyleri group will still run the Abertillery Online site but this message board is separate and as I am going to a new job, then I will no longer have time to oversee it. Please contact me if you wish to become the board admin - obviously it will have to be someone who is unbiased!!

good luck in your new job, and thank you for all the work you have put in on this site of ours

Well I'm unhappy.
1) You haven't mentioned 'Independent/non-aligned'.
There's more of us than them.
2) You removed the 'personal diatribe' and thus saved the stupid prat from being held up as another example of why they and their ilk have fallen out of favour with the electors.
3) You removed it before I'd had a chance to see it (!).
I think you're biased against everyone.(Is is actually possible to be anti-everything ?). Yet surprisingly not everyone thinks you're biased against them or towards someone else. In fact, only a very small minority seem to. Well, small dogs bark the loudest don't they ?
And yes, this is a tongue-in-cheek posting, and it is really Dai Rocke posting it. After all, no-one can emulate my style, can they ?
Anyway, you have done an astounding job with this Forum.
I add to what's been said. Wherever you go there'll be people who will benefit from you being there.
