ITS not just books and recordings being checked out at libraries in Blaenau Gwent local people can take advantage of a free health check-up at the same time.
Blood pressure, body mass index and body fat and lung capacity checks are all on offer at the libraries in Tredegar, Ebbw Vale, Abertillery, Llanhilleth, Cwm, Brynmawr and Blaina this autumn.
Qualified practitioners are on hand to carry out the checks, while Blaenau Gwent Council library staff are there to help obtain information on any health issues that may be identified.
Health checks are available on the following dates:
Monday, October 13 Ebbw Vale, 10-11.30am, and Blaina, 1.30-3pm.
Tuesday, October 14 Abertillery, 10-11.30am.
Wednesday, October 15 Llanhilleth, 1.30-3pm.
Thursday, October 16 Cwm Library, 10-11.30am, and Brynmawr, 1.30-3pm.
Monday, November 10 Ebbw Vale, 10-11.30am, and Blaina, 1.30-3pm.
Tuesday, November 11 Abertillery, 10-11.30am.
Wednesday, November 12 Llanhilleth, 1.30-3pm.
