History Open Day

History Open Day
Saturday 25th February, 10am - 2pm, Salem Chapel, Blaina.

Did you know Blaina once had a castle and that Nantyglo was a bronze age settlement?
Or that the Roundhouse Towers in Nantyglo were the last private castle built in Britain?
Did you know the Nantyglo and Blaina area was a hotbed of Chartist activity

Thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) a new interactive exhibition will be created for the Nantyglo & Blaina Charter Group’s centre at Salem Chapel, Blaina.
But the local Charter & Heritage Groups need your help.
The area is steeped in history, So if you have any interesting photographs or objects that you would like the Charter & Heritage Groups to know about or perhaps include in the display please bring them along for recording and copying to an Open Day in Salem Chapel, Blaina on Saturday 25th February from 10am to 2pm.

Experts will be on hand to tell you more about your objects or even identity them! A local brass band and historical films will be playing during the day and refreshments will be available.
