JOSEPH WALLACE

Also looking for information on a Joseph Wallace, Cwmtillery think he may have had something to do with one of the churches possibly clergy about 1882-1889
admin

Joseph Wallace - the only one I can find on the 1891 census - was a mining engineer who was manager of Cwmtillery Colliery I believe. He is listed as such in the 1881 census.

My cousins great uncle was Joseph Wallace and lived in Cwmtillery. Her great grandfather was his brother John. The family originated in Somerset and their mother and father was Joseph and Martha both born in 1803. Are you related?
Carolyn

Sorry Carolyn but could you please tell me the date these census records are from. The curate could be a possibility if there was a link with cwmtillery, BTW what is Curate Of Arthuret, is it the name of a church or a particular faith?

The cwmtillery one could be a possibility too if it was an early census as he is only 7 because we also have a photo of him as a choir boy he could have grown up to join the clergy proper. I do not think he lived in a pub it was a farm or a house. Thanks for all your help as I said I have very little to go on.
Carolyn

Sorry both census are from the LDS 1881 and for the curate the census place was Graham St, Arthuret, Cumberland, England
