Joshua & Jane Davies nee JonesI am descended from Joshua Davies 1812-1880 wife Jane Davies nee Jones 1822-1881. Joshua Davies was one of the founder members of The British School. There was an article in The South Wales Gazette Friday May 29 1925 Early Education in Abertillery.
I would like to hear from anyone that is descended from Jane Jones & Joshua Davies. Janes parents were John Jones & Magdalen Jones. In 1841 they were in Blaina. 1851 Clynmaur, 1861 Clyn Maur Canol, 1871 Clynmaur, 1881 Blaenau Gwent. Their descendants were 1891 Blaenau Gwent. 1901 Victoria St. Abertillery.

Hi Roza
I don't have any info on your ancestors - good luck tracing them with names like Davies and Jones! I just thought I'd mention that where you have 'Maur' it would in fact be 'Mawr'.

Hi Martin
I have already researched my family history and also have Smith's married to Jones, Davies married to Smith. So many common Surnames. I'm just interested in finding distant cousins to share information with.
Thanks for the info on Mawr I am aware of this it was spelt Maur on the census record.
