Looking for archive information on my father at ROF Glascoed

This is my first visit to this forum having only just discovered it this afternoon whilst my sister Catherine and I were reminiscing with our father, Bernard Haynes. Dad, who is still around, aged 92, (born 1920  Snatchwood Terrace, Abersychan, now in Epsom, Surrey with his wife Florence Haynes (also still around) nee Jones also from Snatchwood Terrace, born 1921) was sent directly from Cardiff University having just gained his First Class Honours degree in Chemistry, to Glascoed where he worked on detonators and explosives - he cant remember many more details now sadly. He does however mention a Mr Thomas who is used to work for, and whilst Thomas is a pretty common Welsh name perhaps someone knows who this person was. He also mentions the bombings of the factory. Also an accident involving someone allegedly fatalling fallling into a huge bomb casing whilst it was being filled - is this urban myth, old man's mistaken memory or truth?).  Catherine and I are very interested in getting more information and photos of anything from around that period 1941 to 45. Many thanks.

Archive ROF Glascoed

It may not assist regards your father but there's an article on Glascoed in the Gwent Local History Journals which you can view on line...google it in and try issue 60 from 1986, believe the article's pages 15-18.
