Looking for my Father's evacuee host family. My Father is hoping to contact the man who was his childhood friend during the second world war. My Father's name is Fred Lewis, he was from Catford in South London and spent some of the war living with the family of Lewis Edgell, (I may have spelt that wrong-apologies) who lived in Richmond Road, Six Bells, Abertillery. I really hope there is someone out there who can help. He is 79 this year and I know it would make his year if I managed to help him make contact.

Hi Glynda,
I was born in Richmond Rd in 1854 but my family lived there since well before the war. I am a keen genealogist and I have found a LEWYS EDGELL born 1930 in Abertillery. I have contacted a relative to find out if this is your grampas friend. I will let you know what I find out.

Just a bit more info. If this is the same Lewys Edgell, born 1930 he was christened Reginald L. his mothers maiden name was Lewis....possibly the reason for his middle name if it was Lewys and possibly the connection with your family?
