Memories

The exchange of flatteries over Rockes disappointing election results
Are enough to make me sigh and ask again a poor fifth pray tell us the reason why
Down with the blinds of excuses, how hard did Rocky Try? Is there hope for him again, when the voters old shall die?
Old age shall come to all in time, better late than never, we dream of memories past when times we thought were better
Our fathers they gave birth to comradeship and song in the collieries and chapels Marx and God were strong
Streets of sermons pubs and shops in the valleys we loved to name, from Brynmawr down to Blaina Nantyglo and Aber the same
Jones the veg Evans the butcher grocery galore I knew and loved them all before progress closed the door

Hi Eddie,
You fail to answer my simple question which Ive asked twice previously. †Never mind that for now.

Yes, please, please tell us, how did the 2nd and 3rd positions in Cwmtillery win. People are very baffled in Cwmtillery. †

Please visit Cwmtillery and talk to the people in Cwmtillery, we dont understand the results.

By the way, it wasnt a poor 5th (when talking in how many voted)

When you refer to voters in Cwmtillery you keep talking about the old and or postal votes, what exactly are you saying please be blunt about it. Not only that you have made this new post making comments about one single person and not expect any comments back, you will prob make another post saying how people are making comments back at you. Why do it????????

Is it the persons politics you dont like or is it because he was and most likely could still be a threat to Labour if he was to stand again.

Is it one person posting behind the name or the Labour Party?

As you keep ignoring my question I will take it that you do know someone/people personally who are councillors and/or relevant positions within the Borough.
Eddie legge

Who knows

John 69
Who asks how did the 2nd and 3rd positions in Cwmtillery win
Why dose he think Eddie Legge should know
I will say if there is any doubt the sooner it is sorted the better
We do not want an election scandal or even the hint of one
It is true until he has been †put to sleep a dieing lion can still deliver fatefull blows with its paws
And again John it isnt who you know but what you know
I listen and read and I do quote from things I have been told over
many years
And by the way
It wasnt Eddie Legge who firstly posted on Forum about  elderly voters or about the postal voters to lazy to walk to the polling station
It might surprise you and others to know I am anti Tory and Lib Dem but not Independants
I had the utmost respect for Independant councillor the late †Bill James and his wife Margaret they served Blaina well
Durring the past four years I have found Blaina Independant councillor Garth Collier to be very helpful and obliging †
The labour party to me are Family and a family being for life need I say more †

Hi,
you posted 'how hard did Rocky Try?' I should have made myself more clear or re-word my words, exactly how hard did the Labour work, what was their magic secret to getting certain votes.

If you look back through your posts you will see what I mean when you refer to old and postal votes.

And sometimes it is important where the information came from or where/who you quoted them from.

You made this new post, why do it?????????? you are obviously still bothered that people are voicing their opinions on who they wanted to win.

Visit Cwmtillery, you will then understand why people are shocked. You brought this on yourself, surely you expected replies. Again, why keep posting?????? You are only keeping the subject alive.

Why do you want to start tit-for-tats, just leave it.

(Just to make it clear, it wasnt myself who made comments about lazy postal voters, go back and check)

Eddie you are prob a nice person, but stop the tit-for-tat, its boring now.
Rocke

Where on Earth do you start with this?!!!

I tell you what, I'll leave it until Thursday.

PS some never reach old age, that's the injustice of life.
Ian Jones

Hi Eddie:
Instead of starting more and more pointless threads why don't you post all the mundane/cryptic comment's on just one of your thread's and reply directly to people's comment's where required ?
Also as you seem to have single handedly convinced all Blaenau Gwent to vote Labour could you tell those voters and the other constituents who may have voted for "other" In your OWN words what concerns you have for Blaenau Gwent and what improvements you would like to see, EG: a rail link for the Ebbw Fach Valley, A better street market for Abertillery, Road maintenance, More jobs, Better education! to name a few.
Lastly if Labour fail in any of the things you would want improved would you challenge them on the issues or will you just keep on voting Labour hoping they will change?
None of these questions have any alterior motives, I really hope Labour succeed time will tell  (although i didn't vote Labour this time around).
Please take the time to give a sensible reply Eddie not a cryptic one, afterall the voting is over now  you have talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk.
                                      Respectfully yours
                                                                  Ian Jones.

Strange how this posted of yours  showed! is this your attempt at humour?

So do i take it you do not wish to post a constructive reply Eddie,  you obviously have an opinion so please do share it with us.
Let me remind you you started this and many other threads.
You are not doing yourself any favours, at least I had the courage of my convictions and said I did not vote for Labour but I hoped they get things right, (for the sake of the young and old people of Blaenau Gwent).
Are you afraid to speak your own mind? you were asked what improvements you would like to see and if there were none would you challenge it but failed to have your say.
Are you waiting for something to be written up for you?
I will finish this last reply to you by saying.
Even though a Conservative government played a big part in the de-generation of Blaenau Gwent and the rest of the Country (as in shutting the pits for one instance) I would vote for them  if they proved they had our best interests at heart because it isn't about what party is in power it is about what they achieve for the people, and at this point in time I am nowhere near doing that.
Eddie legge

Try again

I wrote a letter pressed submit and it disapeared
Any way to Ian and John 69
Opinions are like our behinds we all have one and to be honest they have caused more ills than plague or earthquake on this little globe of ours
In my humble opinion Hillman and Rocke's publicity bashing in the local press did not go down well with Independant voters
It was much more than a tit for tat between Hillman and Rocke
They were both wanting one †to discredit the other, the name of the game, put the other to shame
What concerns do I have for Blaenau Gwent, under labour none providing they are allowed to continue down the path they chose before, A better tomorrow for us all
My generation were brought up in one of the most hostile of environments imaginable,Who has tided up this beautiful valley of ours, Before they were voted out of office, Labour had secured tens of millions of pounds in public sector †and private sector investment for education, infrastructure, housing, the environment and healthcare.
And what about the whole of Wales under labour, Free prescriptions Free Hospital Parking and Free Bus passes for the elderly and disabled
Ian I am proud to have been brought up believing that labour were a family member and a family being for life,we care and share together And as you might well know, labour comes down hard on those who betray a trust,
In life we are not all perfect, and it is unfortunate that politicions can grow more selfish as they become more powerfull

Jones the doubt

I posted a reply to Ian and Jones 69 pressed Submit and it disapeared

Hi Eddie,

You wrote 'as you might well know, labour comes down hard on those who betray a trust'

Wow Eddie, exactly how hard do they come down on them, and to what extent would they go.

That part of your post obviously wasnt cleared/checked by the Labour Party before you posted it.

You are starting to give the Labour party a bad image, I believe in OLD Labour values.

I cant be bothered with this, thats it for me.

Believe the Right Honourable Member for Falkirk shared out a few Glasgow Kisses in the House of Commons Strangers Bar but that's a different story.

They don't come down that hard actually John.

Mark Holland left Labour to fight for UKIP, less than a few months after actively supporting a UKIP candidate for AM he was being interviewed as a potential Labour candidate.
Less than a year after campaigning for UKIP he's back as a Labour councillor.

Cllr Mike Bartlett felt that the future was with Labour, and was apparently exempted from the rule that one has to be a Party member for a year before being considered for selection.
(I've no issue with Mike's decision. After all, if you feel inclined to be a member of a party you'll vote that way whether officially a party member or not. My observation is that Labour decided one rule for one and another for people who had been members for years). † †

Various Labour members have in the past betrayed public trust yet been allowed to retain membership and indeed even to stand for public office again.
(Again, I've no issue with people standing, whatever their history. It's the public's decision and almost all convictions are spent after a certain time anyway. My issue is that the Labour Party has shown that it does NOT 'come down hard on those who betray a trust' - or is it only the trust of the Labour Party that it's concerned about?)

The 'Eddie Legge' cabal have been giving the Labour Party a bad name on here for some time John.
Don't despair at the rubbish, simply join the debates you wish.

Oh, and it's an old trick of the 'Eddie Legge' brigade - once a thread's gotten too much for them ie. a killer comment has been put on, you'll find the original idea is then regurgitated as a new post and thread. **

I've almost lost count of the nuimber of threads about the result in Cwmtillery.
'Rocke's Final Role' should have been able to encapsulate all of the talk, but these people have to (try to) exert some sort of PR control.

FYI 'Eddie Legge' is also a cover for some of the letters in the Gazette.
Quite some time ago we outed a number of people due to similarities in the way 'different' members post, and also marked differences in the grammar, spelling and general tone of 'individual' users such as the 'Eddie Legge' pseudonym.
Had they have been done by the same person I'd have said they had many persona.

That would be a good test - ask 'them' to spell 'schizophrenia'.
Bet we'd have 4 different variations. † † Smile

Cheers.

Hi there Rocke,

Liked the link, very funny. Eddie/Labour Party really dont like people talking good of you or any Independent / non-party councillors (now ex). Even though you are not in council they obviously still see you as some kind of threat.

It really is a shame you and Del are not in council anymore, I bet Eddie will try and counter-act that comment. It amazes me how Eddie judges you so much yet he doesnt even live in Cwmtillery and clearly doesnt know what you did during your term.

Eddie has put his foot in his mouth a few times on here and I dont think he/they realise. I and many others could guess how hard and to what extent they would come down on people, yet again I dont think Eddie realises how silly he is making such bold statements and on behalf of the Labour Party. I wonder how long it will be before the Labour Party tells Eddie to stop making such statements †on what the Labour Party does.

And for Eddie:-
Eddie please don't riddle me as it will be a waste of time, I wont be answering you. But please tell us, what exactly does the Labour Party do when they come down hard on people, be specific, people in Cwmtillery would love to know.

Eddie Legge.

( No mention of Independent's there then)
And as I said in my post I put my Country and it's People before any party Eddie. Times have changed since those days even I woke up and smelled the coffee!!

To Eddie:
I am "Ian Jones" not "Jones 69" or "John 69, I am one of very few people who post under their real name.
I have at no time as  you say "put the boot in" i'm sorry if you think otherwise

Eddie wrote:

(that is you being personal b/t/w, you won't find me returning the favour my comments are purely out of political interest)
I am not a politician and I do not belong to any political party but I do have an interest.
All I have done is ask you to answer questions in a straight forward manner, not political ramblings or poetry.
And my remark about Mundane/cryptic posts was me trying to help you realise that you are posting comments and starting threads all over the place which have no substance to many of them, for instance you started a thread called "You know it makes sence" twice! was there any need?

That may seem harsh to you but it is not meant that way it is simply a fact!
I have always spoken in a respectful way to you.

You have said on another thread.

Quote:
"The weather could be bad tomorrow but there is a great opportunity to tell the Prime Minister the Government must change course. The best way of doing that is by voting Labour"                 Unquote.

I simply wanted to know why you think Labour are the best alternative for Blaenau Gwent and what you personally would like to see improved.
You obviously have views or you wouldn't be supporting anyone, so I asked you to share them not tell us what we already know.
You then went on to say

Quote:

"What concerns do I have for Blaenau Gwent, under labour none providing they are allowed to continue down the path they chose before, A better tomorrow for us all"  Unquote..

May I ask you who is it that won't allow them to continue as they are the one's in power in Blaenau Gwent?
It was going to be my last post on the subject Eddie as I had asked all the questions I wanted and I was patiently waiting for a straight forward answer.
I was hoping you would have given some answers I would have welcomed it as I do not feel the need to always have the last say.
All you had to do was give good reason why you thought Labour was the way to vote and your views on what could be improved, if you don't have anything in mind that could be improved in our area I take it you are satisfied with the way the outgoing Council conducted their business.
                                       Ian Jones.

Let truth be known

Donít tell me John 69 you didnít know about labour councillors being expelled over expenses scandal 1999,And when Peter Law had is falling out with labour, those who supported him as an Independent MP for Blaenau Gwent were also expelled from the Labour Party
Independents like the French Foreign Legion will accept whoever in order to fill the ranks
Ask David Rocke why he has been so concerned past and present about Eddie Legge
If I donít write properly and correctly why such lengthy replies
As him why the civic car is still in use, Ask why he said sod all to Alun Davies when or AM was canvassing in Abertillery, Ask him why he dodged our MP Nick Smith when Nick was in Aber Tesco
Ask him why he said the following about leader Hillman who was then going through a political crises  over A damming Estyn report  Forum Fri /July/ 15 2011
And any of us councillors that tries to make political capital out of this should be resigned to losing the support of their constituents
General feeling is that we wouldnít be in this position if labour wasnít in power down in Cardiff, what an absolute load of mischievous nonsense.
I would not give Hillman the time of day having said that I did not agree with the way he was betrayed to the local press and by the councillor who had warned others not to make political capital out of it
Hung drawn and quartered by his one time friend and colleague

Sorry Ian

martyn142

Is this supposed to be an answer to Ian Jones Eddie? I genuinely have no idea as I think you've avoided addressing any of the questions or points he made.
John69

Hi Eddie
You obviously dont know much about Peter Law, was he also a victim of Labour coming down hard on him too, do you really know the full facts behind it. Still not answered the question, what exactly do Labour do when they come down hard on people?

You really are putting out a bad image of the current Labour Party.

Many people in Blaenau Gwent had full respect for Peter Law and he did plenty for the area. You really are anti Independent, yet previously you wasnt.

Im not bothered if you avoid the question, what you have already said is enough. By Eddie/1,2,3 & 4 and who else it may be, Im off to Spain for a bit. Be nice Eddie.
Ian

In my experience people who resort to ramblings and poetry instead of answering  straightforward questions do so because they were usually incapable of answering in the first place. Laughing
Rocke

Hello John.

The sentiments are very much appreciated, and I'll make sure Delwyn knows about them.

I think the new administration has had its first PR setback.

I always viewed it as a job, complete with responsibility and the freedom to do it as I saw fit.
Like all the other jobs I've had, I strive to set new standards and the measure of that is that when I leave a) people are sorry to see me go; and b) in the future they say 'remember the Welshman (most of my jobs have been outside Wales) or 'remember when Rocky was here...?'

I take comments such those as the indication that I achieved.
You should see some of the leaving gifts I've had. They're different, and they're special. They mean I connected, I did the business and I extended boundaries, pushed the limits back.

How many councillors had 'Thank You' cards and 'Good Luck' messages ?
How many former councillors have sparked such debate following last week's results?

I'm satisfied that I did a job and that, as you rightly say, what I call 'the rabble' fear me.
And I'm happy that they'll continue to have concerns, regardless of the fact that I'm not a politician and I won't be sniping from the sidelines.
They won't stop because it's personal, I've got under their skins. I've outspun the 'pros'.
I've exposed a nice 76-year-old gentleman - of the generation that probably did more for this country that any other - as a propagandist.
Note - I didn't say I turned him into one.
That despicable act was done by 'youngsters', Johhny-come-lately's who tried to conjure up a 'respect your elders' scenario, laid a decent man open to ridicule, used his name instead of 'hedleymccarthy', or 'Jack C Swann', 'Tchambuli' or the numerous other pseudonyms that have been clinically and ruthlessly exposed over the past 4 years.

I survived three assassination attempts, execution by referral to Ombudsman.
None worthy even of investigation.
Not bad for an amateur and 'newbie'.

And as for Cwmtillery's new councillors, every time someone says 'Rocke and Del were always at these meetings', 'Rocke always had the time to discuss things', 'Rocke always told us what was going on', 'Rocke looked into things and informed us', 'Rocke gave us a great insight into things that affected our everyday lives', it will be a wake-up call, and if as a result people come to regard them as the sort of representatives they want - and most especially they voted for - then I'll be very happy.

Finally, 'Eddie Legge' hasn't yet responded because they're having a meeting to decide:

a) who's going to write the words;
b) what to write; and
c) who's going up to the real Eddie Legge's house to deliver it.

Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

His correspondence was of notable eloquence in this week`s Gazette. It says a lot about the company he keeps I`m afraid.

Interesting that Saeson.

An email I sent to the Gazette doesn't seem to have had much result.
Looks like 'the letter' will be published on here tomorrow, since BG's being a bit slow answering as well.

It's a good one, this !
