Moxley family - NantygloHello
I've started to research my family history which is fascinating and frustrating in equal measure!
My grandfather - Hector Donald Moxley - was born in Nantyglo in 1902. His father, Thomas William Moxley was born in Coalbrookvale in 1866 and my query relates to him.
I've got a copy of Thomas's death certificate which shows that when he died in 1910 he was an innkeeper. The inn was the White Swan in Nantyglo. Is this particular establishment still there or has it long gone? Where abouts in the town was it?
I've also discovered that Thomas's father was an iron miner at the time of Thomas's birth - was iron mining a big industry in the area?
I am sure that I will have loads more questions so if anyone knows anything about the Moxleys, no matter how small, I'd love to hear about it.
