New Cardiff City StadiumI went down last night to watch City play Celtic at the new Cardiff City Stadium - I'd have preferred to have kept the name Ninian Park but it's a lot better than the Tesco Stadium or whatever
The stadium is pretty much complete bar a couple of finishing touches eg big-screen. It's a much better view and much more comfortable than NP, bowl-shaped with a concourse running under the stands similar to the MillStad.
My only qualm is that with the higher roof and being all-seater, the atmosphere isn't up to the old place. However, it was only a friendly (0-0 draw and unlucky not to win I felt) and so hopefully that will improve when we get a proper competitive match there.
Next up Valencia (I'll have to sort out an Ayatollah smilie )

Brithyll

I thougt I'd make my first visit a league game so have a ticket for their first league game against Scunthorpe on 8th August. Looking forward to a bit of comfort after years of being a second class citizen at the old ground. Lots of memories but time to move on.

I can't wait for the season to start Brithyll, although as usual it seems the club is in turmoil again Which part of the ground are you in? My season ticket is behind the goals, Canton stand. A pretty good view actually although I'd imagine there aren't any bad views.

By the way I'm tipping Forest to do very well this year.

I'm in the Canton stand as well, row HH on the side. I'm a casual visitor only and watch City 3 or 4 times a year. Prices have shot up as well but to be expected.
The away fans will fare better as well, I've been in the away end with Forest several times and it was the pits Better in the new stadium.

A crowd of 22,000+ expected on Saturday Brithyll, which isn't a bad turn out against a team like Scunthorpe (apologies to any Scunthorpians reading this . Should tell us if the atmosphere in the new ground is going to compare with Ninian Park.

Should be entertaining. I'm going down on the train and meeting a couple of mates from work so should have a laugh if nowt else.

A good crowd today of 22,200 saw City put four past Scunthorpe to take an early lead at the top of the Championship. Brithyll, I'd imagine that, like me, you are wondering how it wasn't 7 or 8. I hope you enjoyed your first visit.
Bizarrely, the season ticket holder in the seat next to mine is called Martin/Martyn and works in Bristol.
