This posting about who has the most to offeer
David Rocke Would have us believe that Abertillery has more to offer Cardiff people than Ebbw Vale
We should all wish to see it happen a Rail Station in Aber Even if the rail link didnít come to Brynmawr Nantyglo and Blaina it would still be a wonderful thing,
However for David Rockeís benefit what has Ebbw Vale got to offer that Abertillery hasnít? For a start better shopping facilities in the town itself and not forgetting Festival Park with its indoor shopping precinct
The old steel works site one of the biggest redevelopments in the UK with its new education, healthcare and leisure facilities second to none with an estimated employment of 1,500
And it doesnít end there What will †The new £280m Circuit of Wales at Rassau Ebbw Vale do for one of the poorest communities in Wales †It has been estimated that at least 750.000 people will visit the completed facility each year which is expected to generate £50 million
3,000 construction jobs and 4,000 Ė to 6,000 new full time jobs when the track is completed in 2015-16
Most importantly the project will change the outlook and aspirations of thousands of young people across the Blaenau Gwent community with opportunities for training in technology and the automotive industry

Spoken like a true Labourite !
At last you admit that the Ebbw Fach valley has been forgotten about by the powers that be.
You don't give a damn for the generations of people who have grown to working age since industry went from this valley in the 1980's and you don't give a damn about the future generations of youngsters that will be brought up without the opportunity of full time employment because they won't have a viable means of transport to get to job's in Cardiff Swansea Newport Bristol.
You keep supporting people who don't keep their promises and renage on their manifesto Mr Legge I'm sure thousands of young people in this valley will remember you and your friends for the apathy you have shown.
Labour brainwashing at it's despicable best.

Well thank god we've got people like you and your Labour pals to stick up for us in the Ebbw Fach valley Eddie.  Rolling Eyes

Ian Jones isn't self obsessed about himself like E L

Well if the town is going to have a future Ian it will be because of the actions of people like you not the failed politicos of yesteryear like Eddie's cronies.

Ah well at least Ebbw Vale's merger with a far bigger authority is on the horizon. Hopefully get some street parties going in the other "Star Towns" when they demolish their civic centre.
