Grandad (hm 1907) stated that Henry Morgan owned a shop at 32 Tillery Street, Abertillery. I have yet to confirm this but a Henry Morgan seems to run a shop in Tillery Street according to Kellys' Directories of 1901 for Abertillery. However, our Henry Morgan died in 1895 in Cadoxton and according to the 1901 Abertillery Census for that location, a family named Day occupy 32 Tillery Street. I have a photo and of this location as well as a copy of the 1901 census (REFERENCE RG13 4936 page 6 31)

GauntlettGeorge Henry Gauntlett b. 1877 Llanhilliath son of Jeremiah Gauntlett b. 1839 Publow Pensford Somerset and
Hannah/Anne Lewis daughter of James Lewis of Garndiffiath , they lived in Princess street in 1901 census ,
the Gauntlett familys came from Publow Somerset came to Wales in 1850`s, they lived mainly in Trevethin River Row ,Snatchwood,
my grt grt grandfather was it semed the only Gauntlett who came to the Merthyr Tydfil area, the others staying in Pontypool areas etc,
George and Hannah had six children Ada, Thomas ,Emily Alfred and George Henry, not sure as yet if any more or if any died etc,
i believe that George Henry and Mary Jane Gauntlett had three known children so far

Grenville Howard b. 1905 mar. S. Lawrence
Dorothy b. 1911 married a V. Savage,
George Henry was a coalminer,
you mentioned a family the surname Day , Geroge Henry`s cousin Herbert married an Emily Day in 1900 so maybe they were related aslo.

Thanks for your reply marlene. It's a name I always had stuck in my mind as is was so unusual comapred to my joneses and morgans!
I knew nothing of him so is has filled his life out for me. If I come across any others I'll post them on here for you.
