Researching HughesHi i am new to this board ( just discovered it!)
I am wondering if anyone would have any ideas about how i could find out the christian names of the family Hughes who lived in Morley Rd around 1949/1950.
I do know there was a son Arthur who was a builders lab.
Regards

As you probably know the easiest way to find names is through the census but as the latest census availabvle to view is the 1911 and your interest is in the 1940 to 1950 period thats not much help. It is likely that someone of the Hughes family from Morley Rd is still alive and may be living in the area. I would suggest that you do as I have done in the past. Look up any Hughes listed in the telephone directory, chose an appropriate time of day and ring them. Make your intentions very clear straight away otherwise they may think you are cold calling to sell them something! If they are related to your Hughes they should be willing to give you some basic clues.
Good luck

As Hayden has already pointed out if you want informtion about living relatives you will have to wait in the hope that those relatives will see your message and contact you or find the information you want by some other means.
Some living relatives may not wish to be found by you or anyone. I would hope that no genuine family history researcher would give out this kind of information about post 1901 -1911 without permission from the family concerned on a public forum.
I would not give out this kind of information even if I knew the relative they were seeking informationabout. I would contact the relative and let them know there is a message, it would be up to those to answer if they were intersted
