Does anyone have any information on the Pegington family in the area, My grand father had  a butcher's shop in Abersychan in the early 20th century and I'm told there were members of the family in the Abertillery area.Any information? Thanks

pegington family

Hi cowpat (!)
Thank you for the reply. I have the info from 1871 but anything you may have after 1891 will be gratefully received. The original family (as in 1871) had  a load of boys and they spread (bred?) rapidly, but I'm sure I haven't got them all.
I had an uncle in Garndiffaith (Cyril) and my father and my uncle Cliff moved to Glascoed in the 1920s. My grandfather was William Henry Pegington, who had a butcher's shop in Abersychan. My father William Edward Pegington moved then to Monkswood in 1942.
Thanks again,
Chris
