Roger Padfield - Llanhilleth

Hey all looking for information on a Roger Padfield from Llanhilleth, lived on commercial street above a cafe or shop I can't remember too well. His father and mother lived in a street behind. This was around 1983-1985ish would have been around 35-40
Think he had 4 children 3 of which I don't know their names or their mother but the 4th child was called Joel and his mother was called Angela.

any information massively appreciated thanks for reading  Wink

After the Padfields had the cafe in LLanhileth I think they took over the Mount Pleasand pub in Brynithel. Not sure after that.

Next time I speak to my older brother I'll ask him, he'll probably remember more than me!

Thank you both so much, I went up to both pubs this afternoon but they seemed closed and the potters was all boarded up, such a shame to see pubs looking empty and closed down but that's the way the economy is I suppose but once again thank you for the info and any further info would be hugely hugely appreciated so thank you guys  Very Happy

Hi Joel
Have just spoken to my brother, also a Roger. He remembers that Roger was friendly with our Dad who was quite a bit older than RP. The shop/cafe was just before the dip in Llanhilleth if you were coming from Aberbeeg- the shop sold fresh veg and fish. The fish was delivered early in the morning and once Roger got up and found that it had been stolen so after that he had to get up early to make sure that he was the one who got his hands on the fish.
He also lent my parents his van one weekend when they were moving house, someone else had let them down and Roger stepped in with his van.
Hope this is of use!!!

I know the Padfield you are looking for had an allotment on Bishop street allotment site about five years ago.
It may be worth you asking there about him.   Hope this is some help

Hey all,

After a full year of searching, visits to Llanhilleth, Abertilery, and hours searching the Internet I've found the person im looking for.

My girlfriend made contact with the cons club, who passed a message over to someone who had a number.

Weird thing is I'm sat here with my phone in one hand just waiting to call.

Thanks to everyone who helped and messages me and pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks again

Joel
