Yes it was, boarded up now and derelict. Sad

It was the meeting place for members of St. Michael's church before it was built

I may be wrong but i am sure the Royal Oak pub was in oak street in the 1930s,I am pretty certain my uncle used to frequent there when i was a young lad.
Carolyn

I think you are confusing it with the Kings Head that used to be on the left going up Oak St.

Don't know the King's Head but the Royal Oak was definitely just up the hill from the Cottonwood Fred. The building is still there but as Carolyn says is now derelict.

Hello Martyn and Carolyn, thank you for your replys, but i was going back a long time ago.its just that this name the royal oak has been in my memory for as long as i can remember. It may be because my uncle used to say he was going down to the royal oak and used to walk down oak street.so i assumed it was in oak street.
