Rocke

That was another week that was

Short one this week.

3 meetings scheduled last Monday - all at the same time.
So, 'greater Abertillery' Regeneration meeting it was then.

Needless to say roadworks were a significant talking point.
It seems that Western Power ( WPD ) are being a bit tardy with the work they have to do regarding the lights that are going up ( the pelican crossings etc. ). Obviously it would be stupid to put the final coat of tarmac on the pavements only to have it dug up within days ( probably minutes by the way things seem to be outside our control ), hence the town looks like - sorry IS - a complete mess.

Hopefully we'll be establishing some lines of communication better suited to getting information earleir and to a wider audience whenever works are on the horizon.
The Notice Boards should be more regularly updated, with what's coming, not what went and the Traders' Forum will have any advance info. at their bi-monthly meeting with Karin, our Town Centre Manager.

The Foundry Bridge is almost ready for its official opening.
For those who don't like the wire mesh ( I actually quite like the look ) sandstone walls have been talked about.

Its bus shelter is being made at this very moment and will soon be in place, just in time for Summer, our rainy season.

AVIATOR will very shortly take the keys to Roseheyworth's very own Community Hall.
Those nice people at United Welsh Housing have let us have the old Roseheyworth Club for a year or two until they are ready to build there.
( Note - this is nothing to do with the Council, but me as a Ward & Communities First member ).

When the houses are built I'm hoping that a new community hall will spring up very close by.

Next week's week that was will be reading for a night.
Licencing, Education & Leisure, Schools Development and Full Council ( that'll be a good one ).
