The Iceland Cometh !!

Well, there's been activity in the former Woolworth's this week and today we've the great news that Iceland are opening in Aber in November.
Now let's hope we can get the trade back into town and not see one retailer cut the throat of another.

Out of sheer principle we'll be (doing some) shopping there.

I fully endorse using local retailers  however it does not always work to the consumers advantage   I bought a motoring product for £110   Argos less than half that price  a vehicle repair £300   main dealer price would have been £130

Anyone know whats happening with Iceland coming to the old Woolworths? Considering it's supposed to be opening in November there doesn't seem to be a lot going on in there lately. In fact if you look in through the window it looks like they haven't done anything at all.

It's actually opening in March jaybe.

On one of the recent 'week that was' updates ( I think about 3 weeks ago ) I updated this. We were told of Iceland's plans.

I understand that there was an initial date of November - hence the original post - but Iceland have told the Council it will be March.

Thats why I didn't know then, I hardly ever read anything on "That was the obstinate fact that was" message board. Thanks anyway. Lets hope it doesn't go the same way as Wetherspoons were they just seem to be postponing it constantly.

2 things jaybe.

First, I agree that hopefully Iceland will be able to stick to their schedule.

Next, I understand why you don't look at 'obstinate' that much.
However, things have changed somewhat and people will probably notice that I'm not being that 'political' on there ( any more ).
If admin thinks it appropriate perhaps my weekly updates can be moved into the 'General Discussion' area.
I think you have a right to hear what's going on and it's useful for me to get feedback.
