The Met.

I just had a look on the link. They have some great blues acts in May! Maggie Bell (anyone remember the name of the detective series, starring Nicholas Ball,in the 70s ... she sang the theme song "born one morning, woke up where the ceiling fell"?)/Dave Kelly(The Blues Band... I remember seeing them at the Met in the 80s  ... well, ok I can't  remember it but I know I had a good time), Blues Quintet(?)(have a look at Colin Hodgkinson, one of THE bass players!).
Its great to see the Met doing so well. Congratulations to all involved!
I must bring your attention to the sterling work being done by the Vale of Glamorgan entertainment department. Another jam-packed weekend of fun and frolics! I'm just getting ready to go to the premier event; "Pigs do the funniest things!" in a field outside Cowbridge.

Just noticed another thread for the Met, maybe I should have posted there?
Sorry.

Clive says Hazel, I would not have had a clue.  Think they are having an open air theatre up at the side of the Met.  It is great to see the Met is doing well, think it could do a lot better a lot of work has gone into the refurbishment and very tastefully done

I think  (I hope) it is picking up a bit of momentum. We saw a Hull Truck Company play there a year ago (My Favourite Summer?) and there was a pretty small audience. Earlier this month we watched 'Two' by the same company and there was a respectable crowd - not full by any means by probably 2/3rd full. Great play by the way, funny in parts and moving in others (sometimes both together). It's got great architecture, a good stage. a nice little bar and is not far from the Commercial with its real-ale beer for after-play refreshment  Very Happy

I went last year and this year to see the Abertillery Youth Drama productions, Summer Holiday and The Wizard of OZ and it was packed to the rafters both years and I understand this year was a sellout which was encouraging. AADMS did not fare so well this year but their timming was bad with the Grand Slam  as it turned out being on the on the Saturday.

It is far better than the Community Theatre up at the school which offered little in the way of refereshement or comfort. Some good bands and acts still booking Beaufort but then I guess they book well in advance, maybe we will see some change there. I only once went to Beaufort and that was to see South Pacific because they provided transport but again nothing in the way of refreshment locally to make an evening of it and made our way back home.
