Tredegar Terrace, Abertillery-where is it?We are new members requesting information regarding the whereabouts of Tredegar Terrace?
Grandfather Arthur Tom AYLESBURY b 1885 8 Lower Forest Level, Newtown, Mountain Ash moved to Abertillery with his parents Frederick W and Mary Jane AYLESBURY and 1901 lived Tredegar Terrace, Abertillery.
His marriage certificate 1907 has him living 2 Tredegar Terrace, Abertillery and his wife Edith May BRAIN living 22 East Side, Cwmtillery with parents George James and Mary Elizabeth BRAIN.
Arthur and Edith's family lived at Tredegar Tce where 2 children were born and went on to live at 31 Tillery St. and 53 Gray St. finally settling at Richmond Road, Six Bells, Abertillery where relatives still live.
Would anyone have a map location or, if lucky, a photo of this terrace?
Many thanks

I am fairly sure that Tredegar Terrace was what is now part of either Tillery Road or Penybont Road. If so, I am sure the houses are still there. When I go up tomorrow to Abertillery I will have a quick check for you and get back to you. In my mind, I am sure there is a plaque saying Tredegar Terrace on one of the houses - my mind isn't what it was mind!

Carolanne is right. I looked this morning but couldn't see a plaque - my mind was playing tricks. But I have now checked my 1901 OS map and it is the group of houses I thought on Penybont Road - so they still exist. Will get you a picture next week and copy of the map.
