Bancrofts of Griffin St., SixbellsYes, we knew Danny and Amy Bancroft very well. They were great friends of my parents, Will and Rachel Jenkins of Upper Arrail St.
Danny and Amy were good pianists - self taught - and often played in the local clubs, especially Arrail St. Social club, in the 1940's and '50's. I don't think there were any children. Danny was killed in the 1960? mine disaster at the Six Bells colliery. They were a devoted couple, and it is an understatement to say Amy was devastated at her loss.

Richard (Dicky) Bacroft certainly lives in Aber. He is a local builder and has built himself a nice house just along from Green Villas. Not sure about Russell although he was in my year at school.

All of them still live in Abertillery. Nye is still singing, thinks he lives with his brother Hayden but see them both occasionally in the Rolling Mill or town centre. Just seen Russel in town now not sure what he is up to these days. Think Dicky is still singing with the operatics been with them a good few years now.
