Waste of money

I know where you're coming from Terry.

We play 'spot the cock' from the Bar of 'The Mersh' in the afternoons.
Not a day goes by without a bus being obstructed and prevented from going around by Wetherspoons.

This isn't so much the council's fault though. It makes the regulations but the police have to enforce them - and of course don't.

Mind you, the council should be complaining to the police about the lack of enforcement.

Perhaps all bus drivers should be licenced to carry hammers.
They could then break into offending vehicles, move them and hence remove the obstruction.

Alternatively perhaps a rogues gallery of offending vehicles (and drivers) could be started on here  Twisted Evil

PCSOs in town on Market Day.

One walks up to a car parked outside St Michael's opposite BetFred's ie. on the pavement.
The other stands outside the Florist.

5 mins later they are spotted walking across Somerset St towards the Police Station.

*  If they had gone across Market St they'd have seen 4 cars parked on the pavement.
*  They must have seen all the cars parked in Somerset St, contrary to the rules (NO cars etc. - taxis were exempt until 2 or 3 years ago)
* THEY NEVER LOOKED UP COMMERCIAL ST (between Som and Mersh) TO SEE THE TWO CARS PARKED ON THE PAVEMENT THERE.
* THEY IGNORED THE CAR PARKED ALONGSIDE WETHERSPOONS THAT WAS POSSIBLY SO CLOSE TO THE JUNCTION THAT IT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED A BUS OR LORRY ROUNDING THE CORNER.

And no, I don't blame the PCSOs, they're probably doing what they've been told.
BUT I DO BLAME THEIR BOSSES FOR CLEARLY NOT TELLING THEM THEIR JOB AND THE COUNCIL(LORS) FOR NOT PRESSING HOME TO THE INSPECTOR ETC. THAT THEY SHOULD.

And another one on the same theme.

Yesterday was Aberfest.
The town, chockablock with people and traffic trying to get in, out
and through.

Police - well PCSO's in abundance.

1:30 and  - YES, you've guessed.
Idiot parked by the side of Wetherspoons and prevented the X15 from getting around.

Car drivers (illegally) parked in Somerset St therefore decided to go the WRONG way ie UP Commercial St (towards the Mersh).
One narrowly missed a car coming along Market St.
Another had to 'give way' - and then went the WRONG way across Market St as well !
And wait for this - a third car REVERSED back up into Market St, seeing the jam at the bottom.

Perhaps the police were on anti-riot alert, given that Ambitious Al and me were in the same town together   Laughing
