I'd say it was an Abertillery Youth Rugby team from the late 60s. I recognise (I think!) Jack Gamage as the bloke on the left of the middle row, used to live in Glandwr St. I dont know if Terry one of his boys is in it? in the back I can see Brian Davies (second from the left). Think that the 2nd player from the left in the middle row was the excellent prop Robert Jones who sadly died in a car crash near Crumlin at a time when he was just starting to play for Abertillery first XV. Used to have a nickname(oggi?), but not certain. | ||

I recognise Terry Gammage he is 4th from the right of the middle row (2nd row back) and Brian Davies | ||

Abertillery youth a cert circa late sixties. Oggi got killed in an RTA down near the lights I think | ||

Yes I scanned it and sent it in on behalf of someone else but don't know all the names and only regonise one or two people on there. I only recognised Terry as we both attended Hafod-y-ddol. I know Brian because he married our next door neighbour when I was a kid | ||

whos whohiya.my gentle giant dad was in this rugby team GLYN AUBREY,he is in the 3rd row up from the bottom,and in the middle,hes the gorgeous looking one! He was well liked and loved by everyone,and will always be missed.he died sadly in sep 1997. |
