Why isn't Eddie singing the praises of his hero's now ?

Blaina Hospital (gone) Bournville public amenity site (gone) Blaina Fire Station (Going) Public toilets closed plus much more.
Fly tipping increasing by the day, Pensioners being charged £10 to remove a microwave.
Admittedly B.G.C.B.C aren't totally to blame for the cuts, but they are totally responsible how and where they are made in this borough and I just can't understand where Mr Legge is now?
He had more than enough to say in support of Labour in the run up to the elections but he is very silent now as are the council.
Open and transparent I believe was the watchword.
As a Blaina resident I thought Mr Legge might have been voicing his displeasure as are many more voters at the way Blaina is being subjected to such draconian measures.
Come on Mr Legge "your county needs you"
martyn142

They knew they would be having to implement Tory cuts if they got back into power. If they didn't fancy doing that they should not have put themselves forward. It's no good whinging now about something they knew was going to happen. They are the Tories' stooges as they knew very well they would be.

The truth is they want the power but would rather pass the responsibility and blame to someone else. The only comfort the people of Blaenau Gwent can take from this whole sorry mess is that they can - and they undoubtedly will - vote this shower out of office at the next opportunity.
martyn142

So far as eddie legge is concerned Ian, he was always ready at the keyboard when he had something to crow about but always went missing when he was asked to defend their actions.

A letter by one of the Eddies appears in this weeks`s Gwent Gazette. It seems we have Labour to thank for everything (the railway, the Works, the dual carriageway - let`s dig up the countryside so everyone can get to Swansea quicker, but hey ho.)

It's a pity the real Eddie Legge "Man of principles" can't speak to us to admit his big mistake in voting blindly for Labour.
I said many times before the election if they get back in they will go back to their complacent ways.
Maybe he has to wait for permission to come onto his own account.
It must be terrible to see Blaina and Nantyglo being shut down and pulled down around you Eddie and then the reality hits you,
you played your part in it all by voting Labour.
I do hope once they have learned their lesson changed their ways and stop taking the electorate for granted I will once again in the future be able to vote for them .
Mind you they will have to change an awful lot, be more open and transparent, allow more time for questions in meetings, questions that may not go down to well with them but they will at least gain the respect of the public.
Put themselve's Executive officer's and Councillors alike in the mix when it comes to cutbacks and spend their budget more wisely.
I await that day with almost as much blind patience as you have blind loyalty Mr Legge.
stoob

Thanks Martyn, I attended some of those funerals and never mentioned the elderly.

Why should Edward explain to you ian? After all of the abuse he`s taken on this forum from people who should know better. At least they think they know better. But at the end of the day Edward was right and deserved his victory. To the victor the spoils namely another labour administration in Blaenau Gwent. We have a big job putting right the mistakes of the last administration but we are up to the task. So patience is needed by everyone. But it shall be accomplished.

I`m suprised to see you crawling out of the woodwork. As you`re well aware, Eddie is just one of your stooges, to be brought out of his box when it suits you to do so; somebody with fond memories of the days when the Labour party really was the party of the working man. But times change; trouble is, people like you do not.

Blaenau Gwent Council is a mess and the only reason you are where you are is because the electorate didn`t see any viable alternative at the last election. By the way, when are the special inspectors (or whatever they`re called) coming in to oversee you all? Not soon enough many of us would say.
eddie smith

Instead of criticising season you should praise the leader for all of the good work this administration has done. Why don't you put yourself up for election next time and Ian and martyn  oh lets not forget the man who booked a room in the pub to celebrate his victory in the last elections lol. Oh, my sides  Laughing  Laughing

I am a member of the electorate and a Blaenau Gwent taxpayer, so you`ll excuse me for having an opinion. Is that the best jibe you can come up with?

Tell you what; you put up a list of "all the good work" this administration (not the previous one or the one before that etc, etc) has done and we can all decide whether we agree with your rose tinted view.

"Praise him Ed" You must think of him as some kind of God.
The only thing he has in common with God is "No one sees him".
He joined a group on facebook momentarily, he had his chance to do his own talking on there but opted out along with one of his closest allies.
Mind you the real Eddie Legge is installed on there so if "they" do have anything to say I dare say Ed will say it for them.
At the moment he is just keeping a watching brief on all the truth being said.

Anyway, it's better than the unseemly sight of candidates badgering those in sheltered and/or supervised accommodation for their postal vote.

btw, any of your mob self-harmed yet, in order to keep the numbers up in the Minor Injuries Unit, so that Aberystwyth Al can claim to have been the constituency's saviour of the NHS, thereby following Nye into history?

Too right he should explain.

You lot and your hijacking/brainwashing of the guy has left him looking a complete and utter fool in the eyes of many, as is apparent.

Let's see what happens in 2017.
Wonder how many of our current councillors will be part of whatever authority absorbs this county borough?

Oh - and Ian's list is far from complete:

* Fortnightly collections are bad - 18 months on, they're still here. Our Council Tax increase could have helped pay for reversing the bad ideas of the previous administration.
* Street lighting switch-offs will be dangerous -  18 months on, they're still here (and in fact even longer hours now). Our Council Tax increase could have helped pay for reversing the bad ideas of the previous administration.
* The placing of the Education in Special Measures and the imposition of commissioners - 18 months on (from a Labour administration takeover), they're still here. That's longer than under the Partnership (and I can tell you far longer than envisaged).
* Schools going in to Special Measures - well Labour's added Aber Comp to the list.
* Schools being closed down (schools suffering from concrete cancer that is) - within months of taking power Blaentillery school - despite having the then-Mayor of the Borough on its Governing Body and a few Labour councillors of sorts - was earmarked for closure. Anyone know how many more closures this lot have proposed/effected?
* Roadworks all over the place with no effective alternative routes planned to help.
* Policing - or rather lack of. A complete failure to solicit and persuade Gwent Constabulary that a greater presence is required.
* Dog and Litter Wardens a bad thing (remember 'Mr Legge' and his pronouncements? - 18 months on, they're still here. Our Council Tax increase could have helped pay for reversing the bad ideas of the previous administration.
Oh - and the service has lost money.

Mind you, Labour has defrayed some costs - catering staff thrown out of work last Black Friday (nice Christmas pressie that). However, instead of saving on our Council Tax it now places even greater burden on the taxpayer in general.

Some years back there was intervention because of severe failings in Social Services, then there was the (ongoing) intervention in Education, both former County Council functions. This Council ie. the Members, is clearly incapable of politically handling highly important areas of local government such as these, so what's the logical conclusion?

George III lost the Americas.
Our version - Hedley I, the Great Pretender - is I fear about to lose us our relative independence, decisions on local services by local representatives of local people.

Admin this is yet another post from Mr Legge mentioning his interest in acquiring details of my identity.
I have no idea why a person would be so persistent to attemt to attain personal details of me or any other person but I am now getting rather frightened by his persistent enquiries about me.
For all I know he (Who ever he is) may be trying to obtain these details for nefarious purposes.
I have no problem in engaging in dialogue with him related to the forum but Myself and my Wife are starting to think someone whomever it is that goes by the name of Eddie Legge is for what ever reason diplaying an unhealthy interest in our private lives.
Will you please ask him to desist from continually making these enquiries about me please thank you.

No interest

Eddie Legge dose not have a personal interest in the lives of Ian Jones and his family only wanted to know if the Ian Jones on Speakeasy is the same Ian Jones on Aber Forum I am in no way upset about people knowing Eddie Legge when on Speakeasy is the same Eddie Legge on Aber Forum

That is as maybe Mr Legge ? However how you feel about your private information is your business. How I feel about someone trying to obtain my private information is my business. My Wife and I will be the judges of whether it upsets us or not.

Hmm, so even more people are travelling FROM EV TO Cardiff to spend their money there then?

It's no wonder we're in a mess.

Surely the idea should have been INWARD investment, not an economic drain?

No wonder the WG supports this sort of thing.

MORE MONEY FOR CARDIFF BUSINESSES etc.

Clueless, absolutely clueless.

Station in Aber

It dose appear that David Rocke dosnt want a Railway Station in Abertillery it would be like Ebbw Vale taking passengers away to spend their money in Cardiff

Really? I don`t think so, Eddie. He`s just stating fact; most people use the train to travel to Cardiff to spend their money (and I`m one of them, I`m not ashamed to say). How does that help the local economy? It doesn`t, of course.

How does the railway help those in Abertillery and Brynmawr and Rassau (etc, etc) who need it the most (to travel to the jobs honeypot that is Cardiff), but can`t get to the station because they don`t have a car (imagine such a thing!). To them, the railway is useless. And BGCBC don`t have a clue (and probably don`t care) how to remedy such a situation - as I believe Hedley himself demonstrated on this very Board a few years ago when he was out grubbing for votes

Just demonstrates yet again the lack of foresight.

An Abertillery railway station could have an INFLUX of visitors.

I hardly think Cardiff people think 'let's get on the train and see the wonderful school and new Leisure Centre they have up there', nor do they say 'let's go and visit the famous Eastern Slopes'.

I bet with the proper marketting they'd hop on to spend a day in Guardian country, heritage, views etc. etc.

Not a clue.
No wonder we never got out of the mire in the first place.

Even the WAO stated that more could be done regarding stimulating tourism with Regeneration money.

Your masters are still using you to fire the blanks and take the flak I see.
