There were quite a few families named Morris in Abertillery in the 50s, Ivor Morris lived next door to us in Ashfield road, another family lived in Oxford Street and had a son who was always known as Dai truck probably because he was a lorry driver.Another David Morris lived in Attlee Avenue with his parents and sister who I believe was a school clerk. David was in the army as a teacher I think. Phillip Woodland was in the grammar school in the mid 60s and was from Llanhilleth. he was a good goalkicker and played for quite a few rugby clubs, lived in Abercarn and was the stewart of a club in West End Abercarn for many years before sadly passing away a good few years ago at about 50 years of age.
